... for me it was Forbes Field.    But of all time, Yankee Stadium in '57 with my uncle.   Man, oh man  !!!!

Cool!

I saw games at the original Yankee Stadium only twice.

The first time was the Tigers game where Denny McLain lost his first road game the year he won 30.

Didn't have the same effect for me.   Partly because I was never a Yankee fan.   However ...

I think I've mentioned this also before.  Even though neither I nor my friends were Yankee fans, when we played stick-ball we often pretended that we were Mantle at the plate.  The Mick transcended specific teams.

Looks like Marquis is wearing down.  He can probably make it through this inning though.

Running the bases all day long can tend to do that.    ;)

The one thing I remember from the '57 visit ... Yanks vs Tigers (other than my uncle letting me roam around the stadium ..   alone) was Harvey Kuenn at SS.

6.2 IP and 4 runs and he gets a standing O?  I like Marquis, but damn that's a crowd with low standards :P

4 runs given up and he couldn't even go 7. Not a good outing

Need a strong effort from the pen because of Marquis' patheticness

Only 2 were earned, so it still goes down as a Quality start

It wasn't a great outing but at the same time you can't lay it all on him, that botched play by Hairston in the 2nd really hurt.

Alone?  How old?  But I know that was a different time.   My parents let me take city buses by myself when I was nine.

I would NEVER let my son take a bus by himself.

Harvey Kuenn at SS.

Sorry, before my time.   My sister had a crush on SS Bobby Richardson.

I'm aware of that, doesn't matter.
