JDLand posted an entry yesterday about the latest goings on along the Anacostia and today's waterfront information fair at Nationals Park
http://www.jdland.com/dc/index.cfm?id=2788One of the things mentioned was that work on Diamond Teague park (next to the ballpark) would start by the end of 2008. For those not aware, Diamond Teague was a young man from the Earth Conservation Corps that was killed several years back.
There was a rerun of a 2004 report on the ECC back in 2007. I highly recommend the viewing of this video. It takes about 20 minutes, but it is well worth taking the time to watch all the way through. It includes footage along the river and of the neighborhood pre-ballpark. More importantly, it is a great (and rather touching) overview of the program and the people involved, including Diamond Teague.
