Even so, I think someone who was not new to the island would've stood out like a sore thumb.

I hope that they show the new episodes every week without skipping weeks or even months like they used to do.
ABC did not anticipate that Lost would be the ratings leader that it became Season 1.  Word of mouth spread rapidly.  The problem with a show like this is that new viewers don't know what's up, if they start watching in the middle of the season (which happened to me.)  So they started repeating the thing, from the start, in the MIDDLE of Season 1.  I think they did it 2 or 3 times, while adding new episodes.  It helped increase ratings.  But you might not see a new show for 3 weeks.  Then it's a "stand alone" filler show, that didn't seem to advance the plot.

I've also seen peripheral characters that I'm assuming they had around in case they needed material and fresh characters later on to fill air time. I'm hoping that's not the case though.

That wasn't a bomb. That dude should get tossed anyway. As long as we have a shot at the number 1 pick I don't see any motivation to win this ballgame.

They did that a little in season 3 I think it was. This couple had an entire episode about them and at the end of the episode they were killed off and we have not seen anything about them since.

To piss the Phillies off. It'd be fun to win anyways after being down 7-1.

HR! Thank you umps. Damn, we are only down 3. We won't come back and win but at least we'll make them sweat a little bit.

Willingham just hit a bomb. 3-0.

Need the Brewers to win. I'd love to see the Mutts miss out on the playoffs again.

A couple of the relatively main characters from Season 1 are also axed later on. And eventually more survivors are found and most of them are eventually axed too.  :)

So far I can only think of a couple of people who have died, the cop, Boone, the anonymous chick that drowned and I believe Ethan creeped onto the beach from the ocean and iced someone but I don't think that person was of consequence either.

No but you did give away the plot setting, but nothing specific. Vague responses can still ruin stuff  :P

I hope that they show the new episodes every week without skipping weeks or even months like they used to do.

That was what they advertised would happen in 2008, to make up for having nothing to air for 9 months.  As far as I know, they kept their word; but I didn't watch anyway - I didn't care anymore.  The problem with a show like this is that people have things come up and miss shows.  A rapidly advancing plot causes a growing number to drop out, since they don't know what's going on anymore.  If it advances too slowly, so you can miss one and still keep up, but it irritates those who are glued to it.  They announced the definite end before the 2008 episodes aired, to try to prevent people from tuning out.  The idea was to advance the plot, to stop irritating fans.  Too late for me...

A show like Seinfeld or Frazier could run for years, since they were virtually all stand alone episodes.  You could miss 2 or 3 weeks and still get a good laugh.

That particular storyline is not very important in the grand scheme anyways. I thought it was lame.

Yeah, I posted her a while back.

She's banging. I'm not sure if I like her or Shannon better.

That could be Michael, Charlie, Shannon or the Koreans.

Shannon's nice but Freckles has it going on. I would've tried to bang either or both if I had been on the island.
