Pitching prospects are far from certain

What I said 9 days ago. They just wasted 9 days of Gio's future. Oh well, hopefully that will push back his super 2 date.
premature TJ. Get it done

Better than the months and months they wasted on Solis who complained of elbow soreness... and their solution was just to not throw for a couple months and to see what happens.

I'm betting that's the solution here too

Unlikely. There was already a small tear. This will just be the push needed to get the surgery done. If they choose rest... they're foolish. And I'll stand behind that statement.

Doesn't take a medical degree to know that a damaged UCL is not going to magically fix itself.

Isn't that what Toronto and Texas tried with Drew Hutchison and Neftali Feliz?

Surgery costs money
Waiting costs nothing

Yes. Hutchinson went to Andrews, Feliz stayed with Meister,Solis went to Yocum and Giolito saw Elattrache. Seems like waiting is common.

Why send him to Yokum, can't they find a Doc who will recommend no innings or pitch limits upon his return?
