I'll bet you 5 message board insider points. I wouldn't if I were you, my outside guy has less connections than you would believe.

Good sport. I'm just clowning because of some previous "insider" posts.

(Besides, why would I want to change that avatar?)

IDK, but he said that Zimmerman sucks, which should be a capital offense.

Saw a post on insideNOVA that Rendon will be out around 6 weeks.  So it looks like an early June return is in the realm of possibility.

Rendon out for the year. And now we know why everyone passed on him in the draft, injury freaking prone.

Quote
High Single-A Potomac Nationals third baseman Anthony Rendon has been recovering from a fractured left ankle at his home in Texas. There had been some hope that Rendon would be able to return some time before the end of the season, but Rendon told Joseph Duarte of the Houston Chronicle that his season is likely done.
"I'm probably not going to come back this year," Rendon told the Houston Chronicle while attending Rice University baseball practice in Houston.
Rendon also said, "It wouldn't make any sense to come back and play the last month and try and do something big."
Rendon injured his ankle rounding third base at a game in Lynchburg, Va., in early April, finishing 2-for-4 in just two games.

Nats apparently disagree with Rendon.

About Anthony Rendon: checked again with the Nats this morning and yes, they still expect Rendon to play in July/August.

Rendon's probably upset about his situation so his reaction is probably pessimistic like... "freak this crap I probably wont play ever again".

If he's back in August, he'll get ~ 100 PAs in A+ or AA, then he'll go to the AFL so he gets the equivalent of a half season development.

He got his money.  Hopefully he's not one of these kids who get content with just that.

He's not. Definitely. Well, as far as I know; I have 2-3 mutual friends with Anthony and they are unanimous in their praise of his great-guyness.

He was arguably the BPA for every pick of the draft, other teams were scared by his medicals

A bit late to this thread, don't usually check the farm boards... But his comments are distressing. "What's the point in trying to stress and come back for just a month?" Uhh... To get a month more of experience? To not lose the entire season? If you are healthy, which it sounds like he will be, why wouldn't you want to get as much playtime as possible? Just based on these comments, his past injury proneness seems to make sense. I was excited as hell we drafted him, based on his talent, but any young kid with no professional experience sitting back and saying "Eh, screw the last month. I'd rather just sit home and count my monies!" scares me combined with his history for injuries. Hypochondriac, anyone? He's legitimately injured, obviously, but I'm wondering if he hasn't been stretching some of these injuries out... I dunno, that comment a few posts up is scary as far as I'm concerned. No ambition, no grit, no concern to play... Not a good sign of a first year pro player.

He's a Boras guy so maybe Boras is telling him to not rush his rehab and recovery and to get fully healthy before trying to come back.

It's unfair to compare Rendon to Stras and Harper, but he doesn't appear to have the same drive as our dynamic duo.

I think we're seeing a result of constantly trying to rush back from injury. It may be better for him, overall, to simply shut it down and heal completely. Work on strengthening those ankles and come out to Spring Training ready to impress.
