why would seattle want someone who is unproven and yet they'd have to give up a big pitching prospect?i like rendon, but this isn't fantasy.
Kilgore on Jackson:This smells like a sweetheart deal last year with Boras. By not offering a QO, it probably adds a few million to Jackson's offers. A team like the Angels or Baltimore could bring him in and not lose a middling 1st round pick.
Jackson is probably furious - he lost a lot of money coming here last year, I'd be shocked if he ever sees a deal like the ones he turned down again
2B and SP please
If Espi gets traded then the 2B will almost definitely be lombo until Rendon is ready come June.
I hadn't thought of that. That's interesting. Maybe we could work something similar out with another Boras client for next year. If the Nats strike out on Greinke or Sanchez, are there any other Boras clients, besides Jackson himself, that would come here to be the #4/5 next year on a 1 year deal?
Mike Gonzalez didn't find a home for 2012 until May, but interest in the left-hander is plentiful this offseason. He told James Wagner of The Washington Post that about ten teams have already expressed interest in his services, but his top priority is staying with the Nationals.
Rendon is not going to play 2B. baseball. It's not happening.
He dropped Boras didn't he?
