Sump failure is flood damage. At least it was for me when the power failed and my sump failed flooding the finished basement. If it's stormwater damage, its flood damage.

I asked my agent, he said it covers water, sewer, and sump overflow

Good!

I've had very good experiences with Long and Foster Insurance. My agent is extremely responsive via email.

We are a nation of pseudo-macho guys complaining that we are a nation of wussies.

Lots of people doing this macho posing as the storm approaches. OK, just because you have a generator, it doesn't exactly make you Grizzly Adams. :mg:

Nothing like a generator to shatter the tranquility of a power outage.

I hate my damn generator. I'd rather go without power. But the wife always loads the freezer shortly before storms, so...

Ugh.

Nothing like a generator to shatter the tranquility of a power outage.

Now some agencies Don't follow OPM.  My cousins agency only has liberal leave.
I thought "liberal leave" was only going to be instituted after the election?  :)

Depends on what you mean by bust. I'm expecting a thoroughly busted power grid.

This storm is going to be a bust.

Really calm in the Danger Zone right now.  I saw people out walking with an umbrella and not getting it blown away.  Rainy, but not bad.

My office closed at noon, which has never happened in the 12 or so years I've been there. Right after that I heard the office off of Shady Grove Rd. lost the phones and or power. And it's not even 'bad' yet.

Co-worker of mine (who telecommutes and thus had to work today) just E-mailed me saying she heard the federal government's closed tomorrow too. (No official confirmation as yet on OPM site.)
