Article on the Rangers and Mike Stanton.  Posted here because for all the reasons they could use Mike Stanton, they could also use Mike Morse.  And it wouldn't cost them all of their top prospects.

The difference in the two in quality, cost and time remaining with their acquiring club is so vast that they really don't belong in the same discussion.

I feel that the three big trade names out there will be Stanton, Upton and Morse in that order.  Morse is the cheapest and least team controlled.  He is 31 and is a competent bat with horrible defense in the outfield and likely league average at 1B.  Upton can have Morse's bat, but plays the best defense in covering the most ground.  Stanton has the best bat in the game IMO and has a heck of an arm in RF and he moves fairly well for a guy his size.

A Stanton trade is a haul for the Marlins and upends a minor league system for the other team.
An Upton trade is cleaning out some top prospects.
Morse is one good prospect and a serviceable MLB guy.

Teams that whiff on Stanton or Upton should see Morse as at least a cheap solution for a quick bat add.

Bray, 29, has had success as a lefty specialist. His best season came in 2008, when he had a 2.87 ERA and struck out 54 in 47 innings over 63 games. And when the Reds won the National League Central in 2010, left-handed hitters had a .106 batting average against Bray.

"I can definitely bring experience as far as coming in with men on base and getting lefties out," Bray said via telephone.

This past season, Bray was sidelined often with back and groin problems. He says he is healthy and looks forward to helping the Nats return to the postseason.

"I'm really looking forward to the opportunity," Bray said. "The things I had battled during my career are injuries. There are a lot of freak injuries -- whether it's blowing out my elbow, tendinitis, groin issue last season that turned into a back problem. I don't know why they happened. They do. I did my best to battle through them. But I do know when I'm healthy, I'm pretty good [on the mound]. I can do my job and I can do the job that they are asking."

They're about to update the clothing lines so until late February there won't be much available. They had a sweet deal the other day where you got 25% off anything that was in stock, including sale items. Bought a ton of Nats shirts for less than $100.
