Sorry for the terribleness of this GDT, but nobody had made one yet and I hadn't seen anyone claim this day in the GDT thread, and as of 20 minutes before game time we had no place to discuss tonights game. So forgive me for how bad this is, and let's beat the damn Phillies!

I was about ready to do one (I did one - a rather crude one - last year, but the Nats did win that one!) - good show!

Tempting fate here perhaps, but if the Nats win either today or tomorrow it will be their first win of a series at Philadelphia since our first away trip there in March/April 2008.

Haha I'm terrible with the coding. I just clicked on buttons and did what I think was right. It lacks substance, but maybe it will bring home a curly W. Let's go Nats!

Seriously a win tonight would be awesome. I feel like we can hit Oswalt. It's his 2nd start back, and we have Morse back in the lineup tonight. Just need a solid approach at the plate, and good things will happen.

and Lannan needs to do well obviously.

First time hearing Slowes and Todd Kalas together - they're unveiling a statue of his HOF father Harry Kalas in Ashburn Alley tomorrow.

Kalas fils says that after 14 years covering an American League team he still can't get used to the DH, still prefers National League ball.

Slowes did mention that Philly was the site of Eeyore's first MLB start - and also his first MLB ejection.

i'll never forget that day.  crazy. 

i had a good feeling about lannan back then, it's funny thinking back to that and seeing how he has made a nice little career for himself.
