Good news, as Mariners don't have a DH, so Montero can play his natural position.

This trade could potentially have a massive impact for years to come. Very fascinating.

The Mariners needed hitting, the Yankees needed pitching.  The two teams addressed each other's needs in a blockbuster trade of young stars, as right-handers Michael Pineda and Jose Campos will go to the Bronx in exchange for catcher/DH Jesus Montero and righty Hector Noesi.

This could be.good for us. Mariners might not be in the hunt for Fielder now. They got a bat and Montero could play first or DH

Remember that A-Rod will move to DH considering how often injured he is.  They want to keep DH open for him and move someone young to 3rd.

Or some guy who is a free agent at the end of 2013......

Crap crap crap.

Kuroda to Yanks on one year deal.

Amazing to watch real teams do work in the off season.

Well according to a certain poster, if we never had Kasten/Bowden/Riggleman/Church we'd be in the playoffs every year.

He thinks the Lerners and Brian Bixler and Corey Brown deserve better and they have giving their all to win!

Cubs announce re-signing of Kerry Wood at Cubs Convention.

The Yanks cashed in on another of their over-hyped-just-because-they're-Yankees prospects.  Kuroda is also a solid pickup.  The Yanks just upped the ante in the AL East.

Our rotation is still better than theirs.  Which feels weird.

It will be interesting to see Pineda in Yankee stadium.  His numbers were much better away from Safeco which is a pitchers park and the pressure in NY is like nothing else.  He's got a ton of talent but it will be interesting to see if being under the microscope hurts him at all.

Is it?

Sabathia - 3.51 ERA, 1.23 WHIP Career
Kuroda - 3.45 ERA, 1.19 WHIP Career
Pineda - 3.74 ERA, 1.10 WHIP Career
Nova - 3.86 ERA, 1.36 WHIP Career
Burnett - 4.10 ERA, 1.33 WHIP Career

Strasburg - 2.54 ERA, 0.98 WHIP Career
Zimmermann - 3.84 ERA, 1.23 WHIP Career
Gonzales - 3.93 ERA, 1.41 WHIP Career
Wang - 4.15 ERA, 1.33 WHIP Career
Lannan - 4.00 ERA, 1.42 WHIP Career

Not saying out Top 3 isn't better.. but overall, their rotation is deeper and stronger.

Look at our WHIP compared to theirs. Not even close.

I wonder what this means for Edwin Jackson. Doesn't look like he'll be a Nat or a Yankee (not that that was ever a huge chance). But it doesn't look like he'll be getting a very big contract.

I wouldn't trade our 5 guys for their 5 guys.  So, yeah, ours is better.  You don't think so?

Kuroda will be 38 on opening day and on clubhouse confidential today they said that his great year this year was  partially helped by an unsustainably low BA with RISP.  it was around .195

btw CC's fat.

No, no I don't.

Why?  Because you'd rather have their back end 2, Nova and Burnett, than CMW and Lannan?
