The second pitch to Werth is right down the plate on Gameday and called a ball.

Funny.

Funny.

The second pitch was no where near the plate. It was high and outside.

Werth is constantly late on everything. Has he lost that much bat speed?

I can't believe it

Ramirez with the double. Good thing it stayed in the park. I think in most parks that might have been gone

Desmond 0-17 since the game in which he hit Nicasio with the liner. I know he was 4-4 that night, but since that night it hasn't been good.

Coincidence. He's just not a good hitter. 0/18 isn't out of ordinary

I'm aware, but usually the Cubs in the past few years have been sold out for every single game. However with the struggles of the last 2 years their attendance has really declined.

I was curious when I saw that and you're right - after their two NL Central title seasons in 2007 and 2008 when they averaged over 40k/fixture each season, they've declined continuously ever since:

2007 - 40,153
2008 - 40,743
2009 - 39,610
2010 - 37,814
2011 - 37,260 to date

Ramos has been pretty bad for a while now too.

Everyone but Morse and RZ and occasionally Ankiel have really sucked lately.

Any bat officionados out there?  I'm picking up a couple of bats this weekend and I'm thinking birch is too damn expensive so I might switch to ash.

Thoughts?
