________________________________________________

John Lannan said he will be called up from the Minor Leagues and make his Major League debut against the Phillies on Thursday afternoon. Lannan arrived in Philadelphia on Wednesday afternoon and will stay at the team's hotel the rest of the day. Lannan, 22, has done everything to earn the promotion to the big leagues. While pitching prospects Collin Balester, Glen Gibson and Colton Willems received all the preseason publicity, Lannan is clearly the organization's top prospect because of his season he is having. Lannan is a combined 12-3 with a 2.36 ERA in 122 2/3 innings. He did it while playing for Class A Potomac, Double-A Harrisburg and Triple-A Columbus.

Eaton had an eventful outing at San Diego his last time out. He beat his old team for the first time, picking up his second win in three starts and collided with an umpire to boot. Eaton lasted 5 2/3 innings against the Padres, giving up two earned runs and fanning six. He was probably sore afterward, but should be healthy enough to pitch against the Nationals. The right-hander picked up a no-decision against the Nats' earlier this season, giving up four runs over six innings.

The Nationals obviously PhotoShopped a Nats cap on Lannan for his mugshot, then whited out the background.

It's not just the Nats, the MLB in general does that a lot with player mugshots.

They had to do his uniform too.  The mug shot camera must be at RFK Stadium.  I thought those pictures looked similar.  He looks like Zimmerman.  Tell me we got our version of Rookie Yovani Gallardo.  He has 5 starts for Milwaukee, all quality starts.  He won again last night.  The Brewers were foolish to put him in the bullpen, when he may be their best pitcher on the staff.

GO LANNAN!!!!!!!!!!
