If Nick runs and Schneider catches the throw, Nick is out.  In other words, the judgement was right to hold him.

Agreed. Nick won't outrun anyone, so it was right to hold everyone up.

No doubt. He would've been dead at home.

More runs would have really been good there.

A two run lead isn't big enough for defensive substitutions.

Sure.  It's organized by hitters, pitchers.  THe sad thing is that we have pitchers on the offense chart higher than a lot of our hitters, since they tend to be near zero and we have lots of "offensive" guys way below replacement level.

I'll put out the lists tomorrow.

Yes, he did a better job of holding NJ than flagging Willingham. If the ball was handled well, Willingham would have been caught in a rundown regardless.

how many third basemen get to that ball? very few

RZ has been dominant defensively ever since he had that one bad game a week or so ago.

Amazing what happens when starting pitchers throw strikes and don't walk people.

I think I heard he has been practicing more before the game, too.

All RZ needs to be told is to play every play like Nyjer Morgan is running to first. He's a natural with sense of urgency. If he plays the same speed every time, he's GG.

Nice win by the Nats with the whole repertoire clicking tonight - pitching, defense, and hitting.
