Unless they pull off a miracle and make it to the ECF/SCF this season, McPhee needs to go no matter what happens. His firing/non-firing shows how much Ted cares about winning a title. If he's employed by June - barring a miracle run where this team puts it all together - Ted does not care. If he's fired mid-season or after the season, maybe Ted cares.
Though I figure if McPhee is fired another yes-man will be brought in to make sure Ted gets what he wants - ticket sales and advertising $$$.
