Thanks for starting us on the road against the Marlins and then making us face them again for our home opening weekend.

Who should they have scheduled?  What's a patsy team we could play?  The Iowa Cubs?  The Lansing Lugnuts?  Think we could get the Washington Generals to suit up?

21 straight divisional games certainly doesn't help.  More than any team in baseball this year I believe.

Well, we did better against the Mets, Phillies, and Braves last year...  so yeah, any of them would've been preferable.

I think playing a team called the Lansing Lugnuts would be swell! Maybe we can sell their hats in the Team Store right alongside the Philly ones!

It's sort of depressing to know our season could be over by the end of the month. Just like last year. :?

I'm pretty sure we could beat Landon or Georgetown Prep

All the kids on the Georgetown Prep squad are able to take infield without fear of injury. Can the Nationals make the same claim?

You know, LAST year we started off with three victories and then nine losses....maybe THIS year, everything will be opposite and we'll start off with three losses and nine wins....and...dare I say....102 wins for the YEAR!!!!

(wow, those were really good mushrooms...)

But he's right - schedule or not, the Nats just suck.

If they can't beat the Marlins, their fault.  They have to play them 18 times a year regardless.  Doesn't matter if it's now or later.

St Johns or Dematha might give them some trouble:-)

bump. the more I think about it the more I get pissed off at whoever gave us this brutal stretch of games out of the gate.

The combined record of our opponents so far is 8-2.

It's like our schedule was specifically designed to put us in a huge hole from the get go.

Every single starting pitcher we have faced so far is damn solid. Looking around the league it is laughable to see how many creampuff pitchers that other teams are facing.

Not to mention the fact we're supposed to alternate with the Os on home/away the first game of the season. Bleah. I'll just have to mug some Caps fans for their tickets and six-packs to cheer myself up.

One could effectively argue that the 8-2 record is because those teams have been playing the Nationals.

I'm sure that Herr Selig directed it personally.
