The Nats top 4 starters have a sub 3.00 ERA, that's happened like three times in history. And the Pen has been rock solid. The answer is, with pitching like that,  it can last a long time.

At the all star break or for a whole season? Because we aren't even to the all star break yet.

Not only are our starters fantastic but what about our closer - Clippard has allowed 1 hit and no runs since he assumed the position and he's 12 for 12 in save chances.  Not to mention that Stammen and Burnett are also sensational.

So, basically, we're the 2010 Giants without Posey and Cody Ross

Wasn't Ross a deadline aquisition for the Giants?  Our Cody Ross could still be out there somewhere.

Yes. Ross was a deadline and Posey was a September call up I believe. They basically got hot at exactly the right moment and were lucky enough to be in a crappy division.

Then perhaps our Posey is still out there, too.  Or maybe it could be someone like Tyler Moore.

Posey was a September call-up in 2009. He played 108 games in 2010.

Ah okay. I know that he really turned it on late and it coincided with Ross going nuts.

Didn't he start the year in AAA though?

Or maybe it's a healthy Zimmerman and Morse

It could be.  I think we're going to write our own script though.  Even w/o Stras available for October, having 3 pitchers with sub 3 ERA's is pretty formidable.

Zim is not healthy at all.

Morse is just getting back into the groove after being out for 2 months, hopefully his bat comes around soon..

Zimmerman is looking at a cortisone shot or a return to the DL according to the pregame

Zim's been back for like 2 months. He is healthy, stop making excuses. Its always an excuse with him.

It's funny that no one ever made an excuse for Livan's bad starts. No one is making excuses for Edwin Jackson, Gio, Adam LaRoche, etc. It's only Strasburg and Zim because we have to treat them with kiddy gloves. It's never their fault if they struggle.
