Tell me if you experience the same thing I've been experiencing - apps die right after you start them, but restart and run fine.
I just got the jelly bean upgrade and I'm loving the minor tweaks- now if only keis didnt suck

Kies is the biggest piece of crap out there. I immediately uninstalled it after the update was done.

I'm happy with my choice of the Galaxy Nexus.  Unlocking and flashing to CM10 was a cinch, and I expect I'll have something 4.2-based long before Verizon gets around to releasing the "official" update.  Would've been nice to have the Nexus 4 on LTE, but "oh well."  GN was still a big upgrade from my old GS1.

That's awesome that you like the Galaxy. I'm getting a bit frustrated with my Droid X (the original), it has terrifyingly bad battery life while in use now but all I really have to do is get new batteries for it. I had problems with the phone lasting through a whole baseball game if I was browsing the internet between innings.

I must admit it is an absolute trooper though, I've dropped it more times than I can count, even on pavement while riding my bike. I don't use any sort of case, and it's suffered nothing more than just scratches on the phone - not the screen, just the phone. No dead pixels or anything. And this has been happening for over 3 years. Built like a tank.

I'm pretty sure if I had an iPhone I would have broken it about two and a half years ago.

freak that crap, it freaks things up. My patience paid off, I was going to root my phone if JellyB didn't come out by the end of the year.

meh, 4.2 isn't anything huge. I'm completely satisfied with JB 4.1.1. My phone is fast as crap, will last me at least into 2014+.

I trust a south korean conglomerate, a data mining search company, and an evil telecom with access to my my personal info and with securing that info more than a bunch of volunteer programmers

I actually am- I'd rather stick with companies with something to loose than trust volunteers who create custom roms

I'm sure plenty of folks said that about Linux as a whole once.  Shrug.  Enjoy your bloatware.

ICS lets you turn off the bloat ware, I'm just not too trusting when it comes to volunteer developers especially when it comes to timely patches (att and samsung blow, but when it comes to security patches, I trust their fear of liability to act as a motivating factor). Besides, the only builds of linux I'd probably use (ie ubuntu, is backed by a big evil corporation).

My point was that Android is Linux.  But I would agree that Linux on the desktop is pretty bleh.

Are there any Verizon compatible phones that are un-skinned/AOSP like the Nexus 4?

I'd root my phone if I wasn't 40% certain that I'd brick it...

I'm naturally cautions I guess. After the warranty expires, I'll probably root it (especially since I really want 4.2 with the lock screen widgets)

Galaxy Nexus if you don't mind not being on the "cutting edge."  Still, 1.2 GHz dual-core and 1GB of RAM, it's not low spec'd by any means either.

google just put out a version of maps for ios that Google's own developers think is better than for android. The same goes for their gmail app. If google itself is putting it's best products on a competing platform, why am I using Android?

i've been using Waze as my GPS app for a while now, it seems to be the best one out there.

Competition and all that.  Google Nav is the easy slam-dunk choice on Android.  Still, I'd be shocked if whatever's so great about this new iOS version didn't make it to Android in short order.
