i dred every game that Daniel Cabrera starts. however, the Dodgers are due for a loss at home, and maybe Cabrera is due for a good start.

Lol.

Wish I could stay up for this. I'll probably be in bed after the first half inning.

Kershaw is one of those pitchers that is either horrible on any given night, or virtually lights out.  So far he has had three good starts and two bad starts, so I am hoping things even out tonight and we get another bad start (as in 4 innings and 5+ ER) rather than one akin to the 13 SO performance he put up against San Francisco on 4/15 or the 4 H/0 ER start he put up his last time out.  The best way to go after Kershaw is to get him to throw a lot of pitches in at-bats, because eventually he will start throwing balls (as in not strikes) in bunches.

yup.  he has potential, but has been hit or miss.  we need to be patient and have a smart approach against him.  d-cab will give up runs, that's a gimmee, so we have to get runs on the board.  the dodgers do a lot of damage in the first inning, so it'll be important for us to set the tone.

"No, seriously.  I'm telling you.  I SUCK.  I'll probably get my ass kicked by that dork on the Dodgers.    Yeah, him.

He's a lot like most of our pitchers, really.

Why are we even talking about the starters?  If the pen has to pitch 3-4 innings, we stand no chance.

What's the difference between our pitchers (Zmnn, Martis, Lannan) and Kershaw?  Not much really.  Talented but young and inexperienced.  High ceiling.  All have their best days ahead of them.

Kershaw is pitching at home where he is very good.  And he is a lefty.  Other than that, there isn't any difference (well, besides the fact that he doesn't play for the Nationals).

No use in even mentioning the Dodgers' pen, they have one of the best in the league.  The only way to beat the Dodgers tonight would be to bust the game open versus Kershaw and/or pray for a miracle.  Currently their pen has been letting up a league low 3.68 runs/G compared with the Nationals 5.80 (27th in MLB).  The Dodgers' pen is also 4th in the league in inherited runners that score at 24%.  Washington is 22nd with a IS% of 35%.

because D-Crab will get us into such a large hole that our offense will roll over for Kershaw. I see this as a 9-3 type of loss.

I guess.  I'm not denying he'll suck, but if you look at his other starts, he's never left in long enough to give up more than 5 runs one way or the other, so if you're predicting a 9-3 loss, half of that rests on the pen.

Im not going to say were going to lose this game. Who cares what there record is and if there the best team currently.

Our record says were the worst team but we really haven't been playing like it. I can see us getting some runs in but hopefully D-cab pitches a quality start for us to get even close to a win

You know...  of those, the only one that's really meaningful at all is the Cabrera stat.  Baseball is a game of streaks, and the Wednesday W-L % is on par with our overall W-L %.  Shocker.

Correction - I meant of the stats you posted for the Nats.

Washington (7-17) at Los Angeles (20-8)
By ANDY LEFKOWITZ, STATS Editor

The Los Angeles Dodgers have tied the modern-day mark for the longest home winning streak at the start of a season. Extending another lengthy run will have them alone in the record book.

Los Angeles looks to move to 13-0 at home and win its 10th straight at Dodger Stadium over the NL-worst Washington Nationals on Wednesday night in the start of a two-game set.

By defeating Arizona 3-1 on Tuesday, the Dodgers (20-8) matched the 1911 Detroit Tigers with 12 consecutive home wins to open a season. Los Angeles has jumped out to a 5 1/2-game lead in the NL West - the largest division lead in the major leagues.

I don't think D-Cab will fare well tonight, but in his defense, in two of his last three games he has left the contest with the lead and in line for a win, until the bullpen blew it.  So that stat is misleading.

The 12-45 in last 57 road games is absolutely pathetic though.  It's funny though we did sweep that Dodgers team @ our crib and they made it to the 2nd round of the playoffs.

The Wednesday stat is meaningless.  I like the Dodgers being 1-11 vs. NL East, though.
