Flying in for playoffs
« Topic Start: August 06, 2012, 01:16:17 PM »
We are flying in for the playoffs in October and are not season ticket holders. Anybody have ideas on 1) Obtaining tickets 2) cost of 1st round playoff tickets?

Thanks!

That happens and ole Smithian will be on the plane for the first ever home playoff game for the Washington Nationals. Decision has already been made and cleared financially.

1) Good luck. Maybe attendance hasn't been overwhelming. But DC is an "event" town, and the Nats making the playoffs is an "Event. Nats haven't released any info yet.

2) Bring cash. And lots of it.

Even STH are trying to figure it out.

Keep an eye on craigslist, stubhub, and your checking account. Make sure the latter  is fully loaded.

How is that calculated? Why does the Braves have twice the "probability" of winning than the Nats do?

They have a better chance of winning the wildcard.

It's the wild card. The Nationals are favored to win the division so they have less of a chance to win the wild card.

They don't. The Nats have a 93% chance of making the playoffs, the Braves 76%. Out of those numbers the Nats have a better chance of winning the division and the Braves get a silver medal.

Either lots of cash (if buying tickets from a scalper on the street) or a good credit card limit (if you are buying them from StubHub).

And if the Braves and Nationals continue to play at the clip they're currently playing, you might just get to see one wildcard game and nothing else.

I'm giving it thought down the track, flying from Australia, I don't even care if I am at the ball park, just want to be in the bars and soaking up the atmosphere. Long way to go yet

If you are buying a strip, please tell me how/if you are figuring out the actual cost of each ticket. No one has confidently given me answer.

there's an article on ESPN.com arguing that the braves are better positioned to win the division than we are.

No. if the Nats don't make the playoffs the fare is applied to flight to 2013 playoffs.

"WC"= water closet

Braves have twice the chance of being flushed down the toilet.  This is a calculation based on a thorough empirical analysis of historical data and recent trendlines.  Probably a conservative estimate if you ask me...
