New rules to speed up the game, announced this morning.

I think it was Earl Weaver who said that people who want to speed up the game don't like baseball in the first place. ;)

The time taken for instant reply and the farce of waiting to decide to object to the call is worth addressing.  That wasn't what Earl Weaver was commenting.
