Game in question - http://store.steampowered.com/app/200710/

Official website - http://www.torchlight2game.com/

pre-order for $20 (yes that's the entire cost of the game) and get a free copy of Torchlight I to play right now.

TL1 = single-player only

TL2 will be multiplayer.

I'm using my friend's steam account to play torchlite 1 while I'm on the DL. I'm really digging the game but sadly, am limited to how long I can stand to sit and play due to pain.

Any tips for a new Torchlight player? Is there any "auto attack" function? I get tired of clicking on things that are no longer there :lol: I'm a warrior, any must have skills or whatever?

If you didn't know, your pet has an inventory.  You can equip him with gear and even give him some spells.  My puppy barks fireballs :lol:

Also, anything you put in his inventory, you can hit a button on his character frame in the upper left and he will run to town and sell the stuff you gave him and bring you the gold back.  In TL2 he will also be able to buy you potions and scrolls from town and bring them back.

Oh!  You can also find fishing pools.  You can feed fish to your pet to transform him into other things for a short time.  Pretty neat.

Loving TL2 so far...  barely an hour in and have already found a set piece (which took more hours than I'd care to admit in D3).  Loot really is interesting, too.  I've got several spare pieces in my inventory because I can't decide what to equip.  It's a good problem to have.

Do you think it's better than the first one? I liked that game, but I got bored with it after about 25 hours.

It's a lot bigger than the first one.  They said so.etching about act 1 is as big as all of tl1.  There are varying environments, not just one dungeon.  They added multiplayer over the internet and over lan.

25 hours sounds about right for a full playthrough with one class - or at least that's what it took me.  I ended up doing about 100 hours total (all 3 classes and halfway with a second alchemist)

I definitely wouldn't presume to be an authority on comparing the two games after only 2 hours of play, but there's an infographic from Runic that pretty much sums it up:
