Tony Armas, RHP (5-2, 3.44)
Armas Jr. was staked to a 7-1 lead in his last start against Houston, giving him plenty of room for error as he picked up his fifth win of the season. The right-hander needed it as he was less than sharp, giving up four runs on nine hits over 5 1/3 innings of work. Armas threw 105 pitches against the Astros (67 for strikes) and has thrown over 100 pitches in his last three starts. Armas is 5-4 with a 4.67 ERA against Philadelphia in his career.

VS.

Brett Myers, RHP (3-2, 2.86)
Myers won for the first time since April 23 in his previous start, despite being the Phillies' best pitcher. That said, he allowed three runs in that outing, the most he's allowed in any of his five starts for the month. He hasn't faced the Nationals yet this season.

A 9-pitch half inning and the top third of our batting order starts up where they finished yesterday.

  • Hell yes!
Did Vidro almost hit a home run?  The red dot on gameday was past the home run fence, as if it were saved from going out.

Come on Nick.. He should have touched home after the umpire didn't make a call.. He just sat there in disbelief

he wasnt going to get back to it anyway. if he made a sudden move the catcher would have reacted.  i think he tried to bluff him and hope the catcher wasnt paying attention

does that life insurance commercial not make sense to anybody else?

the guy is clearly lying.  back when he was a kid, judging by his apparent age, pocket change was nothing to scoff at.  you did not just save change back then.  it could actually be used to buy stuff.  kids were not running around with dollars to break

Armas appears to be running out of gas.

Armas completely falters.. 3 straight hits, the last one a monster shot by Abreu..  3-0, it will be tough to come back from that if we continue to fall short in RBI opportunities

WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT!!!

That might have been the worst consecutive three at-bats one of our pitchers have had this year!
