He's trying to show off. Even though he was safe, it's still a stupid play. He easily scores on a single.
yep.
He was trying to manufacture a run. He would have scored from 3rd on a sac fly or even a grounder to the right side.
would have walked home on the Guzman single.

no need to force the issue and go for third with a hot hitting Guzman and Zimmerman coming up.

stealing 2nd is plenty good enough.

Haha, company was visiting, but I did keep up with the Nats and they seem to have gotten good while I wasn't looking!  If they start doing bad tonight I'm out of here.

Good idea. We may have identified the cancer.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm in total agreement with you.

Since you knew with 100% certainty that Guzman would single I guess that makes you right.  :?

Nice job by Rick, so Jim wasn't ejected? The Atlanta announcers said that if a non-manager is ejected in the dugout he isn't allowed to then come out onto the field. They said he might get a suspension.

Guzman and RZ are two of the hottest hitters in the league. why force the issue and go for third? it's not like McCann sucks behind the plate or there was a RH hitter in the batter's box.

The radio announcers said it was the same ump from the Mets game where we had the instant replay of Sheffield's homer?

Guzman and Zimmerman have been on a tear. Why risk an out, when you have 2 chances to bring a run home?

what the freak!

Lannan can't get a corner strike called, unlike Hanson.

and it's a laugher.

Nats blow easy scoring opportunity due to stupidity and the Braves answer right back.

Lannan with far too many walks against a mediocre lineup.

and just like I predicted the sorry ass Nats are back.

Bad defense, unclutch hitting, and terrible pitching.

Nice double play. So it will be an unearned run now.

I wonder what Dibble will say if they do sign Strasburg for 20 million.
He's going to have a fit
