3-4.  there is no competition for him for NL ROY.  as long as he stays with the big league club, he has it in the bag

Depends on if Lance Lynn keeps winning.

5-0 already.

Plus, the voters all know him as World Series Bullpen Phone Guy.

I saw last night his throw home from LF was clocked at 84 MPH.  Wow.

Pretty damn good.  I remember hearing a while back that he was clocked in the mid-90s in college when he was playing around on the mound just for fun.

Or was the Roy Hobbs?

Not if Bryce keeps up what he's been doing, it won't be close.  Lynn would need to win 25 games

He made 18 appearances last year, all in the middle of the season before the post season.

Lynn isn't a rookie but he was a high school teammate of Drew Storen

He is listed as having 119 days of service time prior to this season.

45 days on the 25 man active roster. Lynn had around 60 entering the season.

Someone should alert the MLB website, then.

And I was confusing days with ABs I think.

from rosenthal couple of days ago...yeah there are a couple guys who shouldn't be on this roster.

Quote from: Ken Rosenthal
Harper, 19, runs to first base like Pete Rose. He throws like outfielders used to throw. On Monday, his first day in Washington, he even took a few swings in a pickup softball game near the Washington Monument, evoking Willie Mays playing stickball in the streets of New York.

And the Nationals might send him back to Triple A? Are you kidding me?

There are a lot of people who need to be shipped out of Washington. Harper should not be on the list.

I can't see them sending him down unless they truly don't care about the team and are tone deaf to the fanbase

But Ian Desmond certainly deserves to be on this roster

Nady, Tracy, Ankiel, DeRosa are all guys just playing out the last year(s) of their careers

I don't understand why the Nats would get rid of the best short stop in the NL East.

There's been alot of criticism on this board toward Desmond.  Like in any other profession, a little experience goes a long way.  Desmond is a better ballplayer this year and even excluding last night, he has shown that this season

Harper is going to get some competition from pitchers - Wade Miley, Drew Pomeranz come to mind (still one of the biggest trade steals of all time IMHO).  Cozart and Nieuwenhuis are off to good starts as well.

I know. A lot of people are sold on Ruben Tejeda but I don't think his .387 BABIP will hold up.

I think this is a situation where the media narrative works in our favor. Writers are already conditioned to write about harper as the next great player, as long as he performs, that's what will be written. If Miley or Pomeranz played for a bigger name team, maybe, but as it stands, I think it's harper's to loose
