I really wish we had a better option than Nieves.  Not a good catcher, not a good defender, not good at offense.  Heal quickly Flores

Fat chance :?

Nice, LA.

Ok.

Nieves should never catch again. I'm convinced he's the one that wants to nibble.

Atilano definitely nibbling today, but the positive news is that he has worked out of trouble quite well.

Yeah, I really think Atilano was purposely pitching in spots where Nieves wasn't calling for it.

Yeah, it has become painstakingly clear the last few games.  While we had some bad pitchers last year, I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of the nibbling was due to Wil behind the plate.  There isn't much of an excuse for veteran pitchers to not shake off Nieves, but it is understandable for a rookie in his second start to trust Nieves no matter what he calls.

I say let the Escape Artiste pitch the sixth inning. He'll be facing Koyie Hill and Ryan Dumpster, and it will help him end on a better note. Plus, he can't do worse than Bruney.

Trevor Hoffman just blew another save against the Pirates.

Damn, kind of sad to watch.

Invoking Jesus ends the inning with the bases loaded with damnable Cubbies.

That was a terrible half-inning.  Atilano really needs a 1-2-3.

Can anyone tell me where swinging at the first pitch = working the count?

Sometimes I think announcers just talk off a script without even paying attention.
