Succinct and captures my feelings well. And it's not even his insistence on sticking with HRod that bothers me the most, it's that he just doesn't know HRod well enough.
Anyone who consistently watches the Nats can tell you that when Rodriguez doesn't have it at the beginning of the inning, he just doesn't get it together and ends up with awful outings like tonight. He kept the 7th hitter alive to get a hit from him, and had too many walks. As soon as it was clear it was bad HRod, he should have been pulled. It's just not smart managing to leave him in there, the odds of him keeping things steady unless he comes out dominant is too low to justify the decision.
