it makes me sad to know that the caps can never, ever be as successful as the blackhawks or bruins. feels bad

Eh, where the heck were the Bruins before Neely and Chiarelli took over?  They were a game away from firing Julien 2 year ago.  Their best star after Orr and Esposito that could still play at the end of his career had to get traded to Colorado to win a cup.

Toronto turned it around.  Anyone can.

The match was still going on when regular CBS Sports Radio programming resumed after the Nats match...did Maguire or any of the other announcers start calling for the shoot-out in the playoffs?

My inner WNFFer wants to rant, "2-0 lead and they blew it.  Gutless gaggers. Game / Series."  But I will not.

I guess I'll catch this one this summer on the NHL channel. Sounds like a classic.

Milbury did say that the league should reverse the outcome because Boston was supposed to win.  Then he went on a long diatribe about how Ovie is probably lying on some Black Sea beach in a vodka stupor.

Datsuyk signed a three extension with the Red Wings today.  Maybe the best news of the offseason for the Wings.

Didn't watch it tonight, instead I watched The Naked Gun, but I sort of wish I did. I absolutely didn't want the Blackhawks to win, bit I wanted the Bruins to win less. To miss a miraculous comeback disappoints me, even if I hate both teams.

But in my defense, The Naked Gun is a really good movie.

Per at least one place I've looked, expect 2013-14 NHL schedule to be released on 17th July (the way they used to do it, the day after the MLB ASG which is one of the quietest days on the sports calendar).

Hockey playoffs > any other sport. What a game, still can't believe the Blackhawks pulled that off.

I'm surprised it didn't go to 2+OT in 7 games.

IT was a playoff hockey game, and I knew enough about one of the teams to not be detached.  Playoff hockey is great to watch.  I did find myself clapping and pounding the bar top when the Bs went up 1-0, and when a Chicago fan called for a penalty the time a B shot a puck off a defender's face I got mad at the idiot.  That said, I don't live and die by the Bruins so I don't feel much other than wishing there was another game in a pretty good series.  Congrats to Chicago I wish Jeff Hamilton played for them, or some other yalie.  Oh, did I mention who is the 2013 D1 National champs today?.  Viva the Original 6!

I know this goes against "hockey mentality" but this is Crazy!  Sorry, your health is more important than any HOCKEY GAME.

I love it there, The Sleeping Giant is awesome. And literally nothing bad has happened in or around the town in the two years I've been there.

remind me in case I ever edit or pull one of your posts. You are beyond moderating. Anything you post short of pictures I leave intact.

Glad we won, went to pittsburgh for it, but really enjoyed following your team this year.  Don't forget the college hockey thread in the loft next year.  It's Minty's other home.

The buildup to that game was unreal around town, wish it would've been a closer game though. I respect Yale and was glad two ECAC teams were in the ship after all the crap we get from around the nation. And I didn't even know that was here, I'll be sure to check it out and post. I'm actually good friends with Matt Peca since he lived in the room next to me during freshman year. He's gonna be a star, one of the nicest guys you'll meet too.
