44 pitches, 5 outs. He certainly is productive.

I mean, what do you even say after a loss like this? It's just sad. I do know one thing Manny will say though. He will tell everyone how good pitchers like Webb and Haren are and that we should just roll over for them every start.

10 hits and 0 runs over the last 18 innings for the dazzling Nationals offense.  :worship:

This is so embarrassing. But being that today is the 1st of the month the players can feel good that their measure of salary will be deposited to their bank accounts anyway :?

Yep. We have finally reached the 10 games under .500 plateau. Point of no return? Bye-bye any chance of getting anything out of this season?

I remember Bowden saying if certain players haven't started producing by the start of June that is when he historically starts making moves. He said he wouldn't hesitate to call up the youngsters too. Well it's now June Jim, put up or shut up.

Phil Wood is a freaking idiot. He just said we have no starters in AAA that are capable of filling in at the ML level right now. He said all our young starters are 3 years away. Has he seen how well Mock and Clippard have pitched lately?

What did Ray Knight say is our problem, besides a bad hitting coach and lack of hits?

I like the idea of getting Mock up here, but I think what Wood meant was that we really don't have upgrades ready in the minors. I'd have to agree with that. Mock would give us a younger guy in the rotation, but he's no better than any of the guys that we have here now. Man, I can't wait until one of our more dominant arms is ready. It's going to be a little while longer, though.

He was pointing out mechanical issues, which everyone guesses Lenny hasn't seen because he doesn't watch game tape.

Mock is a beast, man. Trust me.  He could end up better than Balester.  VanAllen and Zimmermann could be close to ready by next season.  Hopefully the same with Balester.

A reporter just asked Boone why we are so bad offensively this year and he could not come up with an answer. It was bad. He just stuttered and muttered and could not come up with anything.  :icon_frown:

But seriously, what do you say when you know you suck and have an incompetent hitting coach.  I mean, do you blab that to the press?

turned the game off in disgust after hudson robbed guzy in the top of the 3rd. it's just too frustrating to watch, had to take a break.

o, and we fell to 10 games under, it usually just goes downhill from there...

Totally agree with you.  Mock and Clippard have been DOMINANT, and how the freak should Wood or anyone else know that they can't/won't continue that in the majors?

Seriously, Dukes should never play another game in a Nats uni.  Hill was garbage today.  We need Zimmy back.

Why would anybody worry about the pitching. When you score ZERO runs a game you can have one guy as your staff. He can throw lob balls like they do in the church leagues. I would try to get help in upgrading on the ZERO runs a game.
