Byron Kerr ‏@masnKerr
Ian Desmond hit 22 career homers in 2+ seasons (329 gms) from '09-'11. In 2012, he has 18 HRs in 92+ gms #Nats

Damn glad to see you Son!

Pitchers should be given lashes by their pitching coaches for throwing him first pitch fast balls. I love watching him rake, but it astonishes me he keeps getting first pitch strikes that he can drive.

Bob said Desmond's HR tonight was a slider that hung

Well yeah, it's in Seattle. "Dinner out at The 8oz Burger Bar in the Capital Hill neighborhood of Seattle: 3 cute little burger sliders, 1 each from lamb, wild boar, and Kobe beef."

Stop posting delicious meat! Now I really want a burger but I don't have any meat to fry up. Those look sooo good.

Any was, on topic: what a homer Desi! We are happy to have you back. Good to know you can still hit for power!

Blue once told the owner of CCSP that they should have a Wil Nieves appetizer -  3 meatball sliders right in a row.

Something tells me we're gonna get along. :)

That smiley face is definitely, positively not a link to a picture I took of the best bacon cheeseburger I've eaten this year.

I was bored so I decided to look up stats and while I was looking at stats for our nats, only one player stood out to me the most.

.295% BA 23 HR 67 RBI .331% OBP

I was always a big believer in Ian Desmond but I never imagined he would have a season like this. Seeing how he made a huge jump this season just imagine what Danny Espinosa might be able to do next year, 30-35 maybe even 40 homeruns

It's not the OBP.  .331 is mediocre, although it is about 30 points higher than his career. It's the SLG - .522 and the isolated power - .228 (SLG-BA).  That slugging is higher than all of our regulars, including RZ, Morse, and ALR.  It only trails Moore among Nats with over 50 plate appearances.  It leads all qualified MLB SS by over .070.  That is incredible (In contrast, his OBP is only 7th,  behind the likes of Jamey Carroll).  His ISO is not only the best for all shortstops, it is about 30th for qualified MLB position players, right around the ISO's for Mark Trumbo, Cody Ross, Carlos Beltran, Mark Reynolds, and Mark Teixera.  Those are some big boys he's bashing with.

I think we're much more likely to see Desmond mash 40 home runs than Espinosa next year, just because he's flashed 30 HR power.  You realize those numbers are astronomical for middle infielders, right?

Not disagreeing.  Exciting times.

Espinosa hit 28 combined HR's in 2010... So the potential is there.

This is amazing to read now

http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/2012-mlb-postseason-world-series-prediction-detroit-tigers-to-win-it-all-032612

15. Nationals. Manager Davey Johnson already has said the Nats can fire him if they don’t reach the postseason, which means that GM Mike Rizzo should get his list of possible replacements ready. The Nats are dealing with a number of injuries. Scouts question whether second baseman Danny Espinosa and shortstop Ian Desmond are a championship double-play combination. Center field will remain an open question until Bryce Harper arrives, and perhaps even after that. Lots of potential; just not sure all of the pieces fit.

I've been saying all along you can count on them being 20-20 guys for the next 10 years. Anything above that for MI is gravy.

29: A's
27: Orioles
25: Pirates
21: White Sox
17: Braves (this one is probably the most puzzling of all, to me)
5: Diamondbacks

These are the ones that stick out to me.
