The new HELLYEAH is heavy as hell.

Indeed it is.  Never thought I'd see the day when Mudvayne-Pantera-Corrosion all combined...

Really? I like their sound, at least as far as their last album went. I might have to look into it. I loved the song Alcohaulin' Ass or however it's spelled.

The new album is a new dimension of heavy. The lyrics can be lame, but Vinnie sure as hell can drum.

No doubt at all about Vinnie! I'll have to check it out. Have you ever listened to BLS' Hangover Music Vol. VI? It was one of my most listened to albums for a good while. That and Zakk Wylde's Book of Shadows.

This is interesting.  The Boston Globe's free web page, Boston.com, has added a web radio station, RadioBDC.
http://www.boston.com/ae/radio/player/

If I could characterize it, it is what we used to call progressive rock.  Maybe now it is alt rock, but with a mix of different eras.  Right now, a Foo fighters song (times like these) just ended and the arctic monkeys (I bet you that look good on the dance floor) came on.  the Black Keys now.  Earlier, there was some older tunes but similar sound.  It reminds me of 2 other stations WXRV and the former WFNX, which shut down a few months ago.

To each his own... I've been a huge fan since No Rest For the Wicked. I have pretty much everything he's ever done including his first solo attempt Pride & Glory. Has some decent stuff on it with Machinegun Man being one of my favorites.

I LOOOOOVE Zakk and BLS's cover of Lynyrd Skynyrd's "I Never Dreamed."

"I Never Dreamed" is one of my favorite Skynyrd songs, and whereas the Skynyrd version is upbeat, Zakk turned it the other way and made you have the feeling of the pain of missing someone in that song.  Simply amazing job he and the guys did.

But I love the "Book of Shadows" album.  Some of the songs on there...words can't say enough about.  ("I Thank You Child," "Road Back Home," "Way Beyond Empty," "Between Heaven & Hell")...and "January" w/ BLS.  Love it....

Absolutely love that album. It's soooo melow and all. Totaly different than anything else he'd done at that time. BLS' 1919 Eternal is pretty good too.

We are listening to Don't Try to Stump the E Street Band—a compilation of all the cover songs played on the 2009 tour (I think around 70 songs in all). Sound quality is a bit rough at times, but the song selection is pretty interesting (have you ever heard Springsteen sing "My Generation" or "Louie Louie" or "96 Tears"?).

Edited: He just finished singing "Mony Mony" and the crowd's "Hey everybody get laid get freaked" was QUITE prominent.....

Have you ever wondered what Japanese black metal mixed with prog rock
and folk music sounded like? Have you ever wanted to hear a song with
Black Sabbath solos, jazz saxophone, disco lasers, hand claps, conga
drums, and an outro featuring whistling and tubular bells? Wait no
longer! Also, theremin!

Sometimes having friends that don't have internet works out really well.  Then they come to my house, buy albums on iTunes or Amazon and gift them to me so I can burn the CD.  Free music for me :P

Got a Nightwish album and Iced Earth's Something Wicked This Way Comes (don't know why I didn't already have that, but whatever).

Live version of one of my favorites off that album:
