Nats avoid arbitration with Drew Storen, 1/$2.5 million plus another $1 M in performance bonuses.

Does this mean he's a FA after this year?  I assume he's got a few more arbitration years left.

Everyone here should either get laid or eat a bullet. Your choice.

I did both tonight!!!

When you say, "eat a bullet," should that go in the food and how you cook / eat it thread?

Deep fried hollowpoints for everyone!!!

No. I'm not going to use a Battlestar Galactica quote.
Oh your one of those One God believers. Check. NANF

Check with the Attorney General...he got pretty good walking things into Mejico that never came back...

   :lmao: :minigunz:

No, he's not a FA after the year.  I think he has 3 more years where he is arbitration-eligible.  Unless we agree to a long term deal with him, we'll go through the same thing again next year.

This says he's eligible for free agency after the 2016 season.

should be 3 more years after 2013

thanks - that makes sense, so i guess you can buy out one year of arbitration without impacting future years.  Nice pay day for Storen.

Rizzo intereview on 106.7 The Fan today:
He expects the On Base Percentage (OBP) to be better in 2013, the fielding to be improved, and we now have more depth in the bullpen with Soriano. That sounds like Clippard and Storen will not be traded.  Rizzo said that all three of them are capable of closing games, but Soriano will be the closer.  Rizzo denied that Lerner demanded his acquisition, talking instead about how reliable Soriano has been.

One of the reasons Rizzo stated for trading Morse was to give him a chance to play every day during his contract year.

No one year deal yet with Zimm to avoid arb? Too optimistic to think they are working on a long term deal?

Gotta be willing to spend some money. Who wants to risk it on the TJS test case?
