Bring him up to Syracuse already.

Marrero should be up in Syracuse around the 4th of July with a call up to the show in late July early August.

I don't agree.Maybe a September call up to showcase for a trade like Milone , Peacock last season. We have DeRosa coming back soon and hopefully  to replace Nady. I would rather have Tyler Moore on the 25 man. You also have Corey Brown who was up for a cuppa' last month.

Why Nady is still here is beyond me. We have ex -major leaguers in Syracuse who have to be better than Nadys .143. If you forgot who they are they are Teahan, Carroll , Michaels and Xavier Paul.

also Chad Tracy is comng back at some point so he gets a spot. Whose place will he take?" Ankiel , Bernie , Moore?

IMO you will not see Teahan, Michaels and Paul with the Nats at all this year.  Brown and Carroll will be Sept. call ups.  I'm not a Mark DeRosa fan at all.  I'd like to see DeRosa and Nady both gone.

All I suggested was of the four , any of them would be better than Nady.

Also , I am not sure where Marrero belongs after his DL stint. Does he go back to the minors and off the 40 man or does he have to be brought up and then sent back down (procedural)?

Nats announce they re-instated Chris Marrero and optioned him to Syracuse.

FYI, he was 2 for 5 with 2 runs and an RBI tonight.

Yes.  He was blocking Tyler Moore not Tyler's jumped ahead of him.  Tyler happens to be older than him too.

He didn't have a whole lot of power to begin with. Is he saying that he has more or that he's at his previous levels. Either way, he's like James Loney with the bat

He looks a little slimmer and more in shape than I remember him being.  Still hasn't flashed much power.  Looks more than capable defensively at 1B, but that doesn't count for a lot.  Hopefully he has a big year in AAA.

Slimmer in the sense of less fat.  I remember him having a bit of a gut when he was up with the Nats before.

More depth. I had forgotten that Marrero was in the organization.

Don't look now but Chris Marrero is kicking ass in AAA. 2 HRs tonight in game two of the doubleheader. Too bad he's blocked at 1B in this organization. Most likely trade bait.

On the season: .317 BA, 2 Doubles, 1 Triple, 5 HRs, 15 RBIs, 5 BBs, 7 Ks in 14 games.

I feel bad for him - terrible timing on his hamstring,  he was in line to be where Moore is now

Keep him. You can never have too many good hitters who can play a respectable defense...even with LaRoche and Moore, and, Zimmerman maybe some day.

Here is another guy you'd think would have value to a team without 1B depth.

Now that he's healthy, maybe he's finally getting the power folks he was going to develop

If Marrero comes up, that would give us 7 first round picks on the roster (zimmerman, storen, strasburg, rendon, detwiler, harper).
