I don't know him much but I'll take him! Had a good year last year.

He might go undrafted. Maybe a 7th round pick.

I didn't say pick him now

I hope the Skins pick up Leonard Hankerson in the 2nd round.

We need Evan Royster

I'd love to see us draft him.  He was a senior at my highschool when i came in as a freshman.  Reallly fun to watch.

He's a tiny bowling ball, knocks everyone over and keeps on running.

I didn't have the Redskins selecting this early in the round and I can't make out if they pulled a trade but NFL network has them selecting Nebraska RB Roy Helu. I'm pretty certain it's a mistake and that it was Houston that selected him.

It's Helu to the Skins. Now we have a potential stud RB finally

In addition to the 4th rounder (127) it looks like Washington gave up two 5th rounders (144 and 152) to move up to select Helu. But also picked up an additional 6th (178). I see this as a bad move.

I remember that dude being a bruise type back, correct? But I think he also may have character issues or is it fumbling issues?

This is one take on him:

Quote
Helu has enough size and speed to serve as a backup but probably won't be a full-time load back in the NFL. Isn't your prototypical inbetween-the-tackles or game-breaking back. Runs hard but doesn't pick up as many yards after contact as you'd like to see. Can get to the perimeter and get headed vertically but doesn't have home-run speed or great elusiveness. Somewhat of a liability in passing situations. Not a polished route-runner, hands are only average, and doesn't protect the passer with much technique or passion. Helu's still a big back who can run and should be selected on Day 3.

Dejon Gomes, DB out of Nebraska in the 5th round. Also in the 5th round Nile Paul WR out of Nebraska. WTF is it with drafting Nebraska players? That's 3 Cornhuskers today.  :?

I like that we got Helu, but this one makes no sense to me. There were a lot of better safety options available. We could have gotten Gomes in the 7th or even in free agency if we really wanted him. Didn't have to use this high of a pick on him.

They have 4 7th rounders so I don't know why they reached there.

Niles at WR seems like better value than Gomes. I think DMP is running the Skins' war room.

Yeah, he was a top 15 WR going into the draft. Smallest hands, though.

I think most people will give them a C or C+ so far. They really did waste that pick on Gomes.

I agree. I also didn't like what they did with the 4th pick because they seemed to give up a little more than was necessary. I'm still not sold on the Kerrigan pick.

If you mean Gomes, Snyder probably tossed a dart at a dart board blindfolded. Hopefully half the players they select end up being starters/contributors to the team.

PANatsFan got his wish and the Skins selected Evan Royster in the 6th round.  :bang: This draft is slowly looking worse and worse.

Also in the 6th, WR Aldrick Robinson out of SMU. WR Dwayne Harris from ECU was taken a spot before by Dallas. That would've been the better pick.   :icon_frown:

I was pretty happy with all the picks we had but then we toss away two extra 5th rounders to move up. Pretty dumb IMO.

I sort of like that we're going with WR though. I was wishing with the extra 5th rounders we'd get an OLine or two...  I'm tired of seeing Heyer play.
