Mike Sellers was a one trick pony, a blocking fullback. He was a pretty good blocker, but I agree, his day has passed and it's time to move onto other things. I still like him though.

So Rex Grossman is going to be the man at QB? I would rather have seen the Skins try to talk Bulger into playing another season or two. I was impressed by him during his time in BMore. Not sure how you're pass blocking is going to be though. Bulger took too many hits in St. Louis. He probably couldn't take much of a beating.

Haven't heard much about Royster. Torrain is hurt, but still #1 on the depth chart with Hightower #2 and Helu #3. Mike Sellars is taking snaps at tightend which doesn't bode well for him considering the depth the Skins have at TE. They really like Darrel Young at FB.

Royster is a freaking monster, he's so good he doesn't have to practice.

So he's a bigger candy-ass than Blair Thomas?

Once upon a time he was a decent blocker. Then he became lackadaisical and started missing blocking assignments or perhaps he became hesitant to accept contact against LB's.

If you drop the N so is Evan. And on some names you can even drop the S and T and get a similar chick's name.

You'll be in the Blue Royster Cult by the end of the season.

I doubt that. I'm not a fanboy so I won't be in any fan club or member of a cult. But I hope your boy does produce. That is a good name though. Better than the Cult of Colt.  :? I have an autographed Blue Oyster Cult CD a chick gave me once. I didn't really want it but I felt bad telling her that so I accepted it and thanked her.

I'm sure the UFL will appreciate his talents...

So Rex Grossman is going to be the man at QB?

I hate the LANDOVER FORESKINZ with a passion but having Wrecks Glassjaw as their starting QB makes me kind of sad for them.

Listening to the garbage local sports radio, it sounds like it's more likely Beck will start.

Helu is looking pretty good from what I hear. I'd bet he'll end up the starter by December. I'm not sure about Paul, but Gomes is getting work in at safety. If Gomes shows anything there, he'll probably make the roster. If Paul does, it'll be via special teams.

I know it's early and all, but I really like Helu. I think he could be Shanny's next Portis. The Denver 5.5ypc Portis mind you, not the Skins Portis. Torrain is hurt again so I really think he ends up the starter.
Good to hear.  That's about what I expected.  Paul was a really good kick and punt returner in college, explosive.  not sure how that will translate to the NFL, but he was consistently good in that part of the game.  He was not a consistently good WR, but he also didn't have consistently good QB's either.

Gomes doesn't look like much but he consistently made plays and was a bit of a ball hawk.  Would love to see him stick in the NFL.  Safety should be a good spot for him.  He was one of my favorite players at NU the past couple of years.

Thanks for the update.

After his groin injury is gone.  Truth be told, I actually kind of like John Beck.  He comes of really corny in interviews but he seems like a good dude.  Wrecks Glassjaw on the other hand, to quote James Harrison, I wouldn't piss on if he was on fire.

The qbs on the roster are just placeholders until next years draft. The Skins will probably be in the running for at least Matt Barkley if not Andrew Luck. The 2012 qb class looks to be far superior to the 2011 class. Hopefully Shanny and company don't make the mistake of offering anything more than a 7th rounder for Pryor in the supplemental draft if he's deemed eligible.

Honestly though, if Kerrigan is able to make a decent transition to LB, which he clearly has the work ethic to do, and offers a decent pass rush, the defense could be pretty solid. By solid I mean top 20. LaRon Landry's Achilles could be a big problem.

I agree. You guys are going to go after somebody at QB in next year's draft. I don't think the Skins are going to be bad enough to get Luck.

I'm pretty sure Shanahan wouldn't offer a 58th round draft pick for a guy like Pryor so I wouldn't worry about that.

Agree 100%. I'm not a fan of these super athletes that have a strong arm. I'd much prefer a statue in the mold of Peyton Manning over a Mike Vick type qb.
