Purke. Has actually pitched in Single A for more than 2 inning. Little Gio is more hope at this point.

Well yes, he pitched 15 injured innings before getting shut down. He also hasn't been at full strength since before the Nationals drafted him. Sure his theoretical ceiling is very high, but if he manages to stay healthy and be the pitcher we all want him to be coming off of shoulder surgery best case he's in Potomac at 23 years old next year. We've never seen him at close to his best, so I have to push him down the list a bit.

Also has college ball under his belt.

Giolito couldn't get out of high school without needing TJS.

A year and a half of college ball before he got hurt, and Tommy John is much better than Shoulder Surgery.

Skole has good numbers and I don't doubt that he does have talent, but remember that he was quite old for his level and isn't liked a whole lot by the prospect experts.  They have the sources, have seen these guys in person, and know what they are talking about.  It is preposterous to rank Skole ahead of Giolito or purke.

I think health plays a major role in a players development. I see nothing odd about people factoring that into their evaluation.

that could be a factor if the prospects in question are of similar caliber, but in terms of talent, giolito is out of skole's league.

They also drafted Pujols in the 13th round.  They can be wrong sometimes.

so because some internet fanboyz like a prospect without really analyzing everything about him is a good reason to write off what the paid experts think?

That's your methodology of evaluating players. Not everybody believes the same as you.

I'm just saying that the talent gap between them is so large that having Tommy John shouldn't affect anything, especially with the success rate of TJ.
