I am going to hazard a guess that the Nationals will have a ten times better return on investment from their draft picks since Rizzo took over than they will from Werth's contract

Why is $126M OK in Selig's eyes but the ~$50M the Nats have spent on draft bonuses since 2007 (131 signed players) is somehow the worst thing ever?

Seriously, the guy needs to be put to sleep

The Astros followed Bud's slotting system. Seems to work for them. 40-84 and no farm system. Good job!

That was frigging atrocious on Bud's part.  I love the fact that he decides to go ballistic when it is the Pirates and Nats leading the market, but he just played with himself when the Red Sox consistently were #1 or #2 the past few years. It's been an open joke / source of pride for them how they land talent in lower rounds by busting the slot, and it has been the way they have made up for their low draft position since 2005. 

I only have one question about Bud - can a turd be transparent as well as brown?
