No no. It has to be Justin Blackmon so it can be compared to Matt Millen and the Lions.

We won't know whether it was worth it until down the road.  All the hand wringing won't mean anything if he is the franchise QB.  If he's a stud, it's well worth it.  If he sucks, the Skins are the same place they were yesterday, at the bottom of the NFC East.

Bill Polian said on the NFL-N that Luck & RGIII were the two best QB prospects he's seen since Peyton came out of UT.  He said he would do what it takes to get either one.  Cleveland was apparently willing to give up the same things so it's all about what the market will pay.

Only time will tell if it's worth it.

If Cleveland was willing to give up the same they'd have the pick since their picks ate better than ours

Wow.  Return of the Retardskins.  Half of me hopes this guy flops and that this is the final nail in the coffin for Snyder and Shanahan.

...the final nail in the coffin for Snyder and Shanahan.

Please, they started Rax Glassjaw last year and traded picks away for that donk Donovan McNubb and all it did was intensify the LANDOVER FORESKINZ media machines.  If you don't think RGIII is going to do that for them (bust or not) you haven't been paying attention.

Didn't he pick Manning?   What do you expect him to say?   Let me throw a couple of prospects out there since Manning ...  Brady, E. Manning, Roethlesberger ...  few Super Bowls there.    I'd say that some of these guys didn't have the weapons Manning had at Indy.   'Skins gotta be active in the free agency market to make GIII work.

I think Brady has one less year.   Mindfact.  :)

Maybe I'm not understanding you, but are you saying Brady had less weapons than Manning?

Yeah, IMHO  ...  or similar.    Colts didn't have much of a defense in my mind though.

It's hard to beat that Herschel Walker trade. That, in my mind, is the worst trade in NFL history.  at Minnesota.

Snyder is not going anywhere. He'll just fire Shanny and shout "Next!"

Unless St. Louis gets a  Harris, Swann, Suggs, etc. for those number 1's.    Then we got a contest.   Plus, Walker had NFL experience and wasn't too bad.   :)

Sportsfan would go absolutely friggin' postal if the Rams turned those picks into Cowboy-esque success.

Explain. 2 first and a 2nd for a possible Franchise QB. Seems fine with me. I don't say 3 first when we're swapping first this year. It's a gamble, but it's one that had to be made.

Then you mean 2 extra. If he fails, we can't even start over until 2015. Any big weapons on offense now have to come through free agency (unless you expect a blackmon to slip to the third), the same holds for cb given how early the elite ones go now. It's a return to Vinny ball

Look at it this way, would you have given the rams Kerrigan Orakpo Williams and Davis for the pick?

It could be worse considering some of those picks may end up being higher than the ones used to acquire those players. Of course two of those players will probably end up being suspended long term for pot smoking so trading them may not be such a bad thing.

It's a return to Vinny "Danny boy" ball

Further exposing/confirming that Cerrato was just Snyder's puppet. It's Snyder that pulls the strings.

Wouldn't it be hilarious if the Rams wound up with a top 5 pick from the FORESKINZ next draft as a result of this trade?

If you don't give him till 2015 then you aren't giving him a fair shot.  They have most of the OL put together minus a OG and maybe a RT.  They have a young WR who can become a nice option when the WR they pickup during this years FA period starts to decline.  Young good TE.  Very nice compliment of young RBs.  I wish it wasn't two extra 1st rounders, but I'm still very happy with this.

JokeMarcus Russell tips his purple drank to you.

Young good TE.

That gets a long vacation if he tests positive again.

Shanny has player control, but if it fails I'm sure the apologists will say it was Snyder all along just like mcnabb

Supposedly St. Louis turned down Cleveland's offer of both 1st round picks this year, and went with Washington's.

@jthom1

According to Rams team sources, Cleveland Browns were willing to trade both their first-round picks this year to move up to No. 2 overall.

Brady?  How was Brady a top prospect when he was drafted in the 6th round?

I have no problem with that offer by Cleveland. I would have been thrilled if they had managed to get that done, but I'm glad that they didn't try to match Washington's offer.

I didn't write "top prospect".   I think I simply used "prospects".    My point is college doesn't mean crap, especially at the QB position.   In my view, the QB in the NFL is as much an animal of the system he's in as anything else.   We'll see what Dad and KS do with RGIII.
