I'd like to see either NJ, Dunn, or Hammer traded.  Preferably NJ (though I like him), so that Dunn can move to first, Hammer to left, and Dukes in right.

This.

Dunn should theoretically improve with steady work at 1B but in reality that dude is just a mess with a glove in his hand.

nah, I think by 2011 we will be a serious contender in the East. everything should be coming together around that point.

We thought that back in '05, '06, '07 and '08.

I'd like to, at least, stop the progressive worseness that we've seen year after year.

According to you he's a total bum/lost cause.

Yeah, instead we've gotten progressively worse which is really stunning.  How can a team be worse than a 102-loss team, the very next year?

So, you're saying that massive, destructive earthquakes or typhoons will wipe out Philadelphia, New York, Atlanta, and Miami by then?

Kearns should have been the odd man out. :?

stealing a paycheck

So, you'd rather have Dukes sitting on the bench instead of Kearns?

Wow, we have 21 hits tonight.  Have we ever had more?

Hey, using Kearns is like when you have to play a kid two innings in Little League

there is no reason to think we won't be contending by 2011 though. Our rotation is taking shape and looks bright. We have a few offensive pieces already ready and a few more that should be getting close to the Majors by 2011 (Marrero, Desmond, Espinosa, etc.).

Our rotation is going to be our strength. we just need to build the rest of the team. must sure up the defense.

Only thing I could find was the Expos had 28 in a game against Atlanta

Congratulations Craig Stammen on your first career complete game. Nice curly W and a great way to put an end to the losing streak. :)

Awesome. congratulations Craig. it is so awesome having all these complete games by these rookies this year.

seriously, can you guys ever remember our starting pitchers going this deep into ball games consistently?

That was our 4th CG of the season which ranks tied for 8th in all of baseball.

I've heard somebody say that each year. Oh we'll be better, we'll be competitive soon. Each year the team gets worse. I'll believe this when I see it. This team has some kind of crazy homing beacon for failure.

Never but I had no interest in the Expos so maybe they did it.

Stammen now has the second lowest ERA out of all of our starters (4.45).

Just when his name was starting to get mentioned in being sent down to AAA he has had 2 straight dominant road starts against very good offenses.

i don't have much faith in him.  he hasn't been that good this year.  but i hope he proves me wrong.

i don't think a lot of people wanted him to go to AAA, but rather to the pen.

hey he just threw two gems in two hitters ballparks ... that's impressive.  i don't care if he's labeled as a "5th starter" he's giving us some quality innings and that's all i care about.

In 6 of his 10 ML starts, Stammen has given up 3 earned runs or less.

Stammen is averaging just over 6 innings a start.

I love his attitude and his demeanor. Great composure. Solid but not spectacular stuff. He has a future on this team in some capacity.
