NL 1st base ADAM LAROCHE (whoo hoo). 2nd Base:  Darwin Barney of Cubs,   Shortstop (fingers crossed). Boooo Jimmy Rollins!  Dang he was injured most of the year!    3rd Base Chase Headley of SD.

NL Gold Glove 2b: Darwin Barney. Numbers benefited way too much from overshifts. I would have given it to Danny Espinosa.

The writers that vote on the awards.

The writers don't have any say in the gold glove award.

Oh ok. Whoever does and voted Adam Jones over Trout is a freaking moron who should excuse himself from existence.

The whole award is freaking stupid. All post season awards are stupid they're a popularity contest and that's it. Not one award has any kind of meaningful criteria that the voters must follow.

Somewhere between two LA 10s Derek Jeter sheds a single tear for not winning this year.

Did they pick a strict LF / CF / RF?  they used to take 3 OFs.  Maybe Trout got dinged because he played a lot of left and had <900 innings in CF?  My bias is towards range in the OF.  Jones isn't good that way, but frankly, there are not that many good defensive CFs  in the AL.  Span would be the most obvious one other than Trout.
