Gonzalez hopes the return of All-Star third baseman Miguel Cabrera can help Florida snap the skid. Cabrera was held out of the lineup Friday with a sore right oblique. He hopes to play when Florida sends Anibal Sanchez  to the mound.

Sanchez (1-0, 4.32 ERA) allowed only one run and four hits in his last start, but walked six batters as the Marlins lost to Houston 4-3 on Monday. The right-hander is 2-0 with a 3.23 ERA in five career starts against the Nationals.

Starting for Washington, Matt Chico (1-1, 5.27) will be hoping for a better performance than his major-league debut against the Marlins on April 4. In four innings, Chico gave up six runs and eight hits - including three home runs - but the Nationals scored three runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to win 7-6.

The left-hander has settled down since his first start, allowing five runs - only two earned - over his last two starts, spanning 9 2-3 innings. He gave up one run and four hits in five innings to beat Atlanta 5-1 on Monday.

Both bullpens are shot but I think the Marlins called up a few relievers from AAA.  We on the other hand used everyone yesterday except for Speigner (He worked the previous 2 days before Friday).  Chico has to go at the bare minimum 6 innings and ideally 7.

Nice easy 1-2-3 for Anibal.  He has always given this team trouble.

The game is being aired on UPN-20 in the DC area, NOT on MASN2.

(The Orios are on MASN1... and NO, there is NO scroll on that screen directing Nationals fans on where to see Washington's game.  MASN=Liars=Evil Pawns of Peter-the Pig Angelos.)

I was wondering about that because they always scroll when the birds are airing simultaneously.

Going to be a long game... 2 straight walks.  This is exactly what we didn't need from Chico tonight.

I pretty much resign myself that a Chico start is a loss, and anything we get from him is gravy. So I am going to try to keep by BP in check tonight. :)

I think Chico just made sportscenter and not for the reason he wanted. Chico, meet the mayor of Cincinnatti. Mr. Mayor, meet Chico.

Maybe he should throw the first pitch over the dugout every time.
