I'll like watching Gose on the Mets, he's one of my favorite prospects, assuming he's in the trade.

That's a lot of money. Too much.
Amaro tends to pay his back end of the bullpen a lot. The papelbon contract is a good example, but I think Lidge also was very highly paid when there.

i think he's staying in Toronto.

Sounds like (assuming nothing changes..which is a mistake) Dickey, Thole, and a prospect, for d'Arnaud, Snydergaard, John Buck (jays will send money to cover hi contract) and a prospect.

This potential Mets trade is absurd. How could the Blue Jays be so stupid?!!

I admire & respect R.A. Dickey, but I wouldn't trade Travis d'Arnaud & Noah Syndergaard to get a 38-year-old knuckleballer. #BlueJays #Mets

Recognize Dickey's value, don't want to give up potential all-star C (d'Arnaud) & No. 2 SP (Syndergaard) especially when that potential all-star C & No. 2 SP would be under my control for six years each.

It appears that AA has gotten tired of simply stockpiling prospects and compensation picks and cashing it all in for a shot at a the division. The AL East is as winnable as it has been in a long time. The Sawks are improved but still pretty uninspiring, the Yankees are banking on a lot of aging guys, the Rays are no sure thing, and the O's are a flukey team that may or may not repeat what they did last season. It is wide open for the Jays to take.

They definitely have, but Travis d'Arnaud could end up being a beast. I'm sure Mets fans are happy to get him in that trade (if it happens).

His hitting numbers look bad - is there an explanation for why they would improve?

Bad?

His career minor league numbers are .286/.343/.474/.816 and hit .333 in AAA last year.

He's never played in the Pros. Are you thinking of his brother Chase?

Mets are on the three year plan. They have a great projected rotation and a franchise catcher all lined up. Good moves this year.

The Jays look stacked.  Good for them for going for it this year.

I understand what the Mets are doing - it would have been difficult for them to beat the Nats and Braves this year and probably next year, too.  Selling off Dickey to the highest bidder makes sense for them as well.

The Rays-Royals trade looks to be comparable to this trade as well.  I'll be rooting for both the Jays and the Royals for being ballsy enough to try to win sooner rather than later.

When you can get two top prospects for a 38-year-old knuckleballer, you have to do it.

I would love to see the Blue Jays keep Baltimore out of the playoffs.

Who is Doug Melvin?  Anyway he is interested in Mike Gonzalez according to Bowden. Was hoping the Nats would bring him back.

Draft pick compensation sure would look nice for him.

Teams are adjusting to the new economics of the CBA.  Plenty of confusion about where the new equilibrium will be.
