Ouch Desmond. I would say put him in the 2 hole but Kennedy is doing fairly well there, then again Kennedy does well in the 7th hole.

Kennedy has been working the count well at least in the two spot.  He has seen 20 pitches in 4 at-bats tonight with two walks.  Desmond has seen 13 and 4 of those were an intentional walk.

He should always be there when we're facing a righty, IMO.

Is that a reference to something Nats-related or did you just want to pay homage to Neidhart?

i'm just simply stating pudge is much better than nieves.

nieves/bernadina should be in AAA right now.  bring back coste or flores ... i don't care if they haven't rehabbed.

Apples and oranges. Bernadina is a kid trying to make it as legit position player and showing he is a career minor leaguer. Nieves is a fundamentally sound defensive backup catcher who is able to be productive despite playing about once a week and batting 8th in the order. He has 39 at bats on the season. Yet, because he is a decent contact/situational hitter, with RISP he is .400/.400/.500/.900  and with men on base he is .294/.294/.353/.647. It'd be great to have any number of current starting catchers as our backup. But as pure backups go - the guys you want to be able to play good defense and hit for contact out of the 8th hole and hope they bat .250 - Wil does a good a job.

Pudge should be out there catching with the Silver Wig on.

He should just have it spray painted on his catcher's mask.
