Capital Weather Gang NatCast has 'Outside of a scattered storm risk, no problems expected. Will the Nats win? That's a clown question, bro.' with 91 at first pitch, 86 by ninth inning, 30% chance of rain.

[emphasis added]

Will of course be in TBSITH for the full Giants series and for Saturday/Sunday Rockies (sold Friday Rockies ticket to seat-mate, will be at Mystics that evening).

Could very well be, given that they've been winning and it's not going to be quite as goshawful-hot as at the weekend.

Best Nats home attendance on a Tuesday, either ballpark: 41,517 at Nats Park vs Red Sox, 23rd June 2009
Best Nats Park Tuesday attendance to date in 2012: 27,835 vs Rays, 19th June
Best Nats home attendance on 3rd July, either ballpark: 39,214 vs Mets at Nats Park, 2010 (a Saturday with a Strasburg start)

Capital Weather Gang NatCast has 'It's going to be a toasty one, but also more than likely shower and storm free. If anything passes, should be quick. Grab the sunscreen on your way out the door!' - 90 at first pitch, mid-90's by ninth inning, 25% chance of rain.

...indeed, must really remember to do the sunblock before heading out - TBSITH doesn't go under the shade till 14.30, by which time this one should (barring rain delay or extra innings) be well into the books.

Ran into Blue last night up in the Loft.  Nice breeze up there, no breeze in our seats in 207.

Ran into Blue last night up in the Loft.  Nice breeze up there, no breeze in our seats in 207.

It seemed to get hotter as the game went on and the breeze died out.  Right before the rain hit I thought my glasses had fogged up but it was a haze of humidity hanging over the park.

Capital Weather Gang's NatCast for today has 'Hit the cold soda and ice cream stands early and often. Hopefully, the seats in the sun won't melt before it sets.' - mid-90's at first pitch, upper 80's by ninth inning, 10% chance of rain.

...and for those going to the Rockies series this weekend...well you knew it just wouldn't be complete without METRO TRACK WORK to see you into the All-Star break the right way!

All five lines affected - http://www.wmata.com/about_metro/news/PressReleaseDetail.cfm?ReleaseID=5275

Metro weekend track work July 6-8, 2012

Buses replace trains on portions of the Red, Orange and Blue lines as rebuilding continues

The massive effort to rebuild Metrorail will continue over the weekend of July 6-8 on the Orange, Blue, Red and Green Lines. The work will begin at 10 p.m. Friday and continue through system closing on Sunday.

Orange Line

Buses will replace Orange Line trains between Stadium-Armory and New Carrollton to allow track maintenance, tie and fastener renewal, grout work and platform rehabilitation. Five Orange Line stations will be closed: New Carrollton, Landover, Cheverly, Deanwood and Minnesota Avenue. Orange Line trains will operate between Vienna and Stadium-Armory at regular weekend intervals. Free shuttle bus service will operate on two routes: Local service between all closed stations (between New Carrollton and Stadium-Armory). Customers using local shuttle bus service should add up to one hour to their travel time. Express service between New Carrollton and Stadium-Armory stations only (no intermediate stops). Customers using express shuttle bus service should add about 30 minutes to their travel time.

Blue Line

Buses will replace Blue Line trains between Stadium-Armory and Benning Road stations to allow for track maintenance, tie and fastener renewal, grout work and platform rehabilitation. Blue Line trains will operate in two segments:  between Benning Road and Largo Town Center and between Franconia-Springfield and Stadium-Armory, both at regular weekend intervals. Customers traveling through the work zone should allow 30 minutes of additional travel time. Free shuttle bus service will operate between the stations throughout the weekend. Both Stadium-Armory and Benning Road stations will remain open for connections to Metrorail service.

Red Line

Buses will replace Red Line trains between Brookland-CUA and Silver Spring to allow for tie and insulator renewal, bridge repair and communication system improvements. Takoma Station will be closed. Fort Totten Station will be open for Green Line service only. Red Line trains will operate in two segments: between Glenmont and Silver Spring and between Brookland-CUA and Shady Grove -- every 10 minutes between 9:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. and at regular weekend intervals at all other times. Free shuttle buses will operate between Silver Spring and Brookland, making stops at all intermediate stations. Customers traveling through the work zone should allow about 30 minutes of additional travel time.

Green/Yellow Lines

Green Line trains will single track between Fort Totten and Prince George's Plaza to allow for track maintenance, tie and fastener renewal and third-rail power improvements. Throughout the weekend, Green Line trains will operate every 16 minutes. Customers should allow about 10 minutes of additional travel time. As a result of the work zone, all Yellow Line trains will operate between Huntington and Mount Vernon Square only. Customers traveling to/from stations north of Mount Vernon Square should use Green Line trains to complete their trip.

Thanks for posting Chelsea.  It looks like this weekend is limited to the north and east parts of PG County

Tonight's Capital Weather Gang NatCast has 'Be prepared to sweat. It's muggy, it's hot. Storm chances are pretty low or nonexistent, though if you see bubbling clouds keep an eye on them' - mid-90's for first pitch, 90 by ninth inning, 10% chance of rain.

---

Really wasn't all that oppressive out at the ballpark last night, surprisingly.

---

Best-ever Nats home attendance against the Rockies was 32,381 at RFK on Wednesday 20th July 2005...best-ever at Nats Park was 31,467 on Sunday 17th August 2008 (only time to date we've broken 30k at Nats Park for this opponent)...at the other extreme, two of our three smallest turn-outs ever were against the Rockies - Monday 19th and Wednesday 21st April 2010, 11,623 and 11,191 respectively (lowest ever was 10,999 against the Astros on Monday 20th September 2010).

It wasn't bad at all at the park last night, nice breeze for most of the games.  At one point there were a few drops of rain but nothing much.  The worst heat was the hour before the game started.

I'll agree - it was beating down pretty badly an hour before first pitch while I was waiting for the bus.

Right, very lame, although I do want the truck to give to my kids, but the trailer with the logo may get dumped in the first trash can.

(Image removed from quote.)

My kids were still asleep when I left this morning so I haven't seen the truck out of the box yet, but I'm sure it will be busted by the time I get home, the plastic is paper thin, it weighs about as much as the nickel it cost to make it.

I'm sure the luggage tag will be nice though.

Saturday's game should be nice...pleasantly mild in the sun, perhaps a bit chilly in the shade.  Dress appropriately, including preferred hallucinogens.

Bath salts are all the rage this year, seemingly popular in the warm weather locales, just remember to take them with a meal, you don't want to get too hungry while on that stuff.
