I didn't see him pitch, but listening to C&D in the car it sounded like he was mostly unlucky, getting his ground balls at a good rate but some finding their way through at inopportune moments.  And the sun thing of course.  But, also sounded like the cumulative weight of it all got to him and he started to get hit hard at the end.

He's not likely to see any more action anyway for us, is he?

Davey said he may pitch him again in St. Louis :hang: :hang:

That's Wang's whole career. He's a groundball pitcher.

He also had a pretty terrible fielding infield in NY. Makes his numbers actually impressive considering how many hits ARod, Jeter, and Cano probably gave up.

I read somewhere the Nats think he'll get one more start. Not sure where I read that, but why would we need him? No off days left, but no double headers either.

Edit: Oops, missed the new page.

Davey said he may pitch him again in St. Louis :hang: :hang:

Why?

Essentially trying out for next year. Also, he can spot start to set up our rotation for the playoffs.

Why?

The idea of Wang pitching against the Cardinals probably assumes that by that time the game won't mean much (to us, anyway).  We have a fair chance of playing the Cardinals, in the NLDS, or maybe even the NLCS.  The less they see of our real pitchers the better, as long as it isn't a game we need to win.    Also, at some point Davey needs to start thinking about setting the rotation.

Davey massaging the #nats rotation a little for Philly. Will go Detwiler, Lannan, Gio to get 3 LHP in series.

How the series in Philly goes (read: if #nats clinch division) could give Wang another start in STL to get 3 RHP vs the #cardinals.

Philly always hammers Lannan.

CMW looked OK yesterday.  If he gives us the same next time out, that would be not so bad.  Just need to get to the playoffs and the shortened rotation so we don't need to pitch him anymore.

This is the new and improved Lannan, though.

Wang needs to be let go for good.  He is just not good.  Rizzo needs to put his ego aside and admit he was wrong.  Time to move on.

I'd expect this will be  his final appearance in a Nats uniform.  He's not making the playoff roster and I can't imagine a scenario where they bring him back next year.

Actually, I wouldn't be shocked if he's back on a minor league deal...

Just like a few years ago the Skins mgmnt. needed to cut Danny Werfeul so Steve Spurrier wouldn't be tempted to play him, Rizzo needs to take Davey's temptation away and axe Wang......now.

Time for Lorena Bobbitt to do her magic to the roster.

Nah, a Mohel would only trim him back.  I want him separated from the roster completely at the root.
