So I email iTunes and tell them my issue. They essentially told me that until I "pay" for the two albums that were unauthorized by my credit card or whatever, I'll be unable to access the music I bought and paid for via iTunes as well. I'm really starting to get pissed off at this point.

Still having issues with iTunes!! How can they keep me from importing music I previously bought and paid for? And how does it take 3 Years to find said error? On the phone waiting to talk to support. If nothing else, at least I'll get to tell them to eat a bag of dicks.

Anybody able to recommend an iPhone repair place in the DC area? The power/lock button on my iPhone 4 (had it since February 2011) is malfunctioning, requires a lot of pressure to make it work. I don't particularly want to take it to an Apple Store because I'm sure they'll try to sell me a refurbished phone or else they'll push me to upgrade to the iPhone 5. I found some instructions online for opening it up and taking it apart, but I don't particularly care for that option and I don't have the correct screwdriver for the weird-shaped screws at the bottom anyway.

I have the "Accessibility" feature turned on as a temporary workaround to let me lock it from the screen, but I view that as temporary because the dot is distracting.

That's what happened to mine.  I just upgraded to a Galaxy Nexus.  Seems like it must be a common issue.

I don't really want to upgrade because I have unlimited cellular data on Verizon right now and if I upgrade to a new phone—by which I mean not paying full price for the new device—I have to switch to one of their new "Share Everything" plans. But doing that would actually wind up costing me more than I'm paying right now. Right now I have the unlimited data on the iPhone and I'm going month-to-month on the iPad paying for 2 GB of cellular data (I may revise that down to 1 GB based on the usage during the first month) and the total cost for doing it that way is $20 LESS than it would cost me to do a "Share Everything" plan with 2 GB of shared data between the two devices.

Hence why I'm wondering if anyone has any repair recommendations.

there is a stall in the mall at tysons you can try (I'm thinking of taking my wife's phone there for the same reason). I'd backup then wipe everything before giving them my phone, but that's just me.

Looked into that but thought the asking prices seemed steep when the Apple Store will sell me an iPhone 4 (what I have now) for $149. I haven't gone for it because $149 is too much for that model. I think on Friday I'm going to call a repair place I found in DC that's gotten good reviews.

Is that the one outside Brooks Brothers? If so, I might check it out. The guy there put the screen protector on my iPad and was very meticulous. Of course that's quite different from opening up an iPhone, but still......

Thanks, maybe I will just head over there to look for the place (the mall's website doesn't help). I'd rather go there than to DC if possible because the guy in DC is in a bit of a sketchy neighborhood (and all the reviews even comment on this).

Well, I am pleased to recommend the Invisible Shield by Zagg kiosk at Tysons Corner Center (Tysons I) for iPhone repair. This is the kiosk located in front of Brooks Brothers. He fixed my power button for $20 while I waited earlier this afternoon. I watched what he was doing and the minuscule screws confirmed that no way is that a DIY job, too easy to lose the tiny little screws (not to mention nobody other than specialists have the odd star-shaped screwdriver to open the case).

Really makes Apple look greedy that they refuse to do simple repairs like that.

Anyone else having issues with iTunes? I get to the store just fine, but when I click on the Account or Redeem buttons and it asks me for my password, it won't accept it. It doesn't bring up an error message: it just won't load the desired page or recognize that I've entered my password.

WWDC was today.  iOS 7 actually looks like it's got a lot of changes (looks nice).  Specs or anything else non-withstanding, the new Mac Pro is very cool.  It's a black cylinder, and the inside slides out to access/change components.  Out of the tube it looks like a reactor or something from Star Trek.

I want software advancements.  We have more compute power in an average laptop than most people know what to do with.  My phone has more than the combined allied forces did in WW2.

I note they're finally allowing faster access to turning Bluetooth on and off. Wonder if that also applies to wi-fi v. cellular data. Going through the Settings app each time is a mild nuisance.

That's what I thought as well, but it looks more like WP7 was the beta for iOS 7, based on the screenshots that site used:





The iOS 7 stuff looks way more polished than the WP7 stuff.  Of course I've never used WP7 so I can't say what it looks like and how it "feels" in the real world.  But when it's time for my upgrade in a few months, I'm going to have a bit of a decision to make.  Stick with another Android assuming there is a new Nexus device (I don't want a vendor skinned version), look at WP7 since the Lumias are nice, or take a look at iPhone again now that they actually seemed to make some decent changes, assuming there is new hardware.

I just looked at my phone, I have the same toggles on the top in almost the same order (granted I have more because if you scroll horizontally), below my toggles, I have my active media players, and below that my other notifications. I'm sure people will drool over these apple 'innovations' but I find it kind of funny that just catching up (well not quite) is their huge leap (I don't know if it's stock android, but touch wiz also has the answer/ignore/text option)

I've had experience ATT, Sprint and Verizon in this area. Sprint just sucked, Verizon beat ATT most places, but not by enough to really make me not want my iphone
