I'm going to try to remain patient and optimistic. But our bullpen and offense are still our biggest issues.

A reporter just asked Manny if he was going to wait to announce the corresponding roster move and Manny said yes. I wonder who it's going to be. Chico?

Yes, but they have lots of different brands of beer at Nationals Park that only cost $9, and you can now pay cash to park at some lots 6 blocks away.  That's what matters.

Let's face it, we're a complete mess.

A reporter just asked Manny if he was going to wait to announce the corresponding roster move and Manny said yes. I wonder who it's going to be. Chico?

There are a couple of possibilities. One is that we DFA/release Mackowiak or Willie Harris. They didn't have to make this move tonight so it's also possible that they have already swung a deal (maybe even involving one of those players) and a roster spot will be made available tomorrow. Also, let's not discount the possibility that Hanrahan could be gone tomorrow. And then there is still the outside shot that Chico will be demoted to Columbus to find himself again.

I don't see them releasing Mack after playing well in his last few outings. Harris has been somewhat serviceable too.  Hanrahan would be my choice but for some reason Bowden and Manny are addicted to him.  I'd have to think that they will send down Chico despite Manny and St. Claire protesting for him to stay.

But Mackowiak doesn't have as much value to us as Harris because of Harris' versatility. The fact that Mackowiak has played decent lately could've facilitated a trade. Like I said. There is no reason to make this move tonight so perhaps another team wanted one of our players and a roster spot was available immediately.

One thing is sure, kimnat will sleep well tonight and praise Bowden for his wisdom in bringing her boy back. Can't say Bowden has a personal issue with Bergmann anymore.

I'm disappointed in you.  I can't believe your first post didn't include your Bergmann photo.  Clearly, you are in a Zimmerman-like slump.   :icon_mrgreen:

Hey now, being the promising local celebrity I am, I can't over do it. You have to put yourself and your work out there in small doses at different times to avoid over saturating the market and having people burnout on you. That might make great tabloid reading but it doesn't make "art" which is what I am all about.

In truth, I wait until the pitchers deserve the pics, then I post them. We'll see if Beachball's, what, fourth stint with the big club bares any less rotten fruit.

Look. As discussed ad nauseum, this is a good move. Bergmann is a Major League pitcher who has had moderate success. If he still sucks, send him down and bring up Clippard. Rinse and repeat. There is no panacea in the minors. We have to work our way down the prospect ladder, and "Last Chance" Bergmann was first in line. Everyone settle down.

One slight problem.  He doesn't have any options left.  IF it doesn't go well they'll either have to trade him or pass him through wavers to dfa him.

Kim,

You know I mean no ill-will, but I see ZERO problems with Bergman clearing waivers.

Kim, he was optioned earlier this season. Options these days mean a player can go up and down unlimited times per season, albeit with mandatory waiting periods between option and call up. So it's really a test drive right now.
