None of us know if the Nats will keep and sign Soriano, though many of us hope so.

But here's one thing complicating such a move: the injuries to Jose Vidro, Jose Guillen, and possibly others.

Here's why I think so: If everybody that Trader Jim wanted to unload was healthy and he could get rid of them all, he'd have more flexibility to make an exception and keep Soriano.

The fact that he can't unload Vidro and Guillen compromises that indulgence, because he's got to be feeling more pressure to move Soriano and get at least SOME prospects for the future.

I hope we hold on to Sori and sign him and lock him up, but if we don't, I think this may be a prime reason it doesn't happen -- not the only reason, maybe, but one of 2 or 3.

Sheesh. I guess we'll all know soon enough, huh?  :?
