The Rockies will receive outfielder Carlos Gonzalez, left-handed pitcher Greg Smith and closer Huston Street in return, though they may not keep Street. One source said Monday that the Rockies are prepared to turn around and trade him -- though to which team he wasn't sure.

Not a bad deal for the Rockies. If the A's don't lock up Holliday to an extension it's a dumb trade on their part.

Pretty good trade for the Rockies. If the A's don't re-sign him, then it's a worthless trade, because they'll get picks when they already had good prospects.


Street was struggling all year long and was no longer their closer. Not surprised he was involved. Gonzalez is pretty good and Smith played ok this past year.

Street had a 3.73 ERA last year, not all that bad, although not nearly as good as the previous 3 years. He's only 24. Carlos' Gonzalez doesn't look all that special? Its going to be weird going to Rockies games without Holliday in left, thats for sure. Oh yeah, this is a Nats forum :-p

yeah, but all he had in Cincy to get on in front of him was Brandon Phillips, not many rbi opportunities there.
