Is Brazil's strategy of deliberately squandering scoring opportunities by tripping needlessly based on not thinking they can score on their own? Insecure as a teen with zits.
They did it again! On another good chance!

Brazil has a guy named Hulk and they're only now playing him?

He started every game. He came in as a sub in this game.

Brazil in last two games: 1 goal scored, 10 allowed.

Why bring in a new goalie? So he can say he played in a World Cup game?

It's like what they do for college kids in the NCAA tournament.

When you get an international cap, do they give you a thing to put on your head or the right to have someone knocked off in your country?

Depends on the country.  Colombia, well...and Scolari should probably go straight to the airport

Apparently 3:00 PM EDT. Odd that this one is an hour earlier. I wonder if that's for European TV.

Arjen Robben played his ass off in a game that he all but announced he was going to throw..."so much for that game not mattering", exactly.  Even van Gaal looked delighted.

I think I get it now. Because it wasn't a pass from his own player?

Yep. Some strikers wait for those types of plays.

Higuain has been pretty crappy in this tournament.

I think that when a player takes an obvious dive and grabs their knee and writhes on the ground, they should be shot in the knee at point blank range with a pink paintball. Wuss mark, the pink badge of embellishment.

Watching the level of play between Argentina and Germany reminds me of something my father said once, probably during the 1998 World Cup—MLS will never succeed the way the American soccer establishment would like simply because the level of play will never compare. People who don't watch soccer regularly watch the World Cup and get spoiled by how good it is.

ronnynat, in your estimation who are the top 5 or 6 playmakers in the world?
