Church is awful.  The Mets' fans will be booing the crap out of him by the end of May.

They're pinch hitting for Santana. We have a chance!

We really have faced some tough pitching recently.

And it's going to continue. Perez-Dempster-Zambrano-Lilly

Zambrano's the only dominant pitcher out of those 4, though. Lilly looks really bad sometimes.

Seriously, Zman is not a very good player.  Lets trade him while his value is still perceived as high.

Don't you just hate all of these teams that have 2 or 3 legitimate closers? I sure do. :?

Our offense makes me sick. Without a ridiculously fluky 2-out, 2-run double by our pitcher we'd be getting shut-out.

They really missed him last year to compliment Aaron Heilman.

Great crowd tonight... It's a shame that most of them were Mets fans and the Nats' players failed to show up.

St-Claire is one of the best pitching coaches in the majors, IMO. He's turned virtual nobody's into decent pitcher's (see Redding, Tim). That was a hard ball to field even for Zimm and just poor command for King. Acta handles himself fine, but Lenny Harris needs to go pronto.
what makes him such a good pitching coach? we are 1 and 5 vs. the Marlins. Ramirez is batting like .400 agains us with homers and rbi's and we continue to let him beat us every #$%^^ time we plat the Marlins. Does he preach walking Schneider and Santana with one out. Do our pitchers have scouting reports? What do they say? And as for Acta, why is Austin Kearns batting ahead of Milledge??? Why for that matter is Zimm batting 3rd for 2 years now? Notice that the Mets just dropped Delgado to 6th and moved Church up to 5th. In this respect Manny takes after Frank Robinson. He'll just keep Zimm in the 3rd spot. and dont worry, Zimm will hit 20 homers. When we are ahead by 4 runs in the 9th, he'll knock in 2 more. And in September, when we are 40 games under, he'll hit .400 to raise his avg to .280, and we'll say he had a decent year.

Our not getting killed every game this season has little-to-nothing to do w/ our offense. Yes, giving up 5 runs to a team that has Santana on the hill will usually equal a loss, but they owe the pitching staff an overachieving performance (or two..or 10). I still put this loss (if it sticks) on the offense. They don't give our starters any extra confidence.

but he shouldnt be batting 3rd, he should be dropped to 7th - ahead of Kearns - until he raises his avg to at least .280

Perfect throw by Nieves. All of our pitchers are super-slow to the plate.
